How To Reach Jaisalmer Fort In Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is also known as the Golden City. There are a lot of Jain Temples in Jaisalmer. The Marwari Jain community controls almost the entire business in Jaisalmer. The Jaisalmer fort has a unique drainage system which allows an effective drainage of rainwater away from the fort.

Although there is an airport in Jaisalmer, it is primarily used for military purposes. However, there is a domestic airport in Jodhpur, which is located at a distance of about 285 kilometers from Jaisalmer. There are regular flights available from Jodhpur to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. There are a lot of cabs available from Jodhpur airport for Jaisalmer.

Jaisalmer has a good road connectivity with the major cities of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Ajmer and the conditions of these roads are also excellent. Jaisalmer has a good train connectivity as well. Trains to major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, and Mumbai are available from Jaisalmer.

Jaisalmer Fort is at a walkable distance from Jaisalmer city. However, there are many auto-rickshaws plying from the city to the fort.

The best thing happened is the drivers in the jodpur, who resolved the messed up plan by the travel agent. Hotel Sia Resorts changed and we have been changed to different resort,which was older property. The daywise plan made by the travel agent was absurd and created lot of confusion.

Sidhu (Being Musafir) was a great person for planning the trip in Rajasthan to Agra and Delhi (final drop off at the airport). We did a trip in Rajasthan, Agra and Delhi which was organised by Sidhu. Everyday, Sidhu used to call and inquire, of any issues we are having. And the driver+car provided by Sidhu for the trip, was just what we wanted for the trip! The Driver (Rakesh) never said "no" to any of our requests. He gave us all the right suggestions, being a local in Rajasthan, which also helped us very much. We could not have asked for more from Sidhu and Rakesh.
