Established on April 13, 1895 the Russian Museum originally it housed collection from the Imperial Academy of Arts along with Hermitage Museum and Alexander Palace. Including the Kazimir Malevich’s famous Black Square, many such artworks were added to the Museum post the Russian Revolution.
