Best Time for Scuba Diving in Andaman
The best time for scuba diving in Andaman is roughly March to May, when the sea is calmest and visibility is highest. The broader Andaman season runs October to May; June to September brings rougher seas and lower visibility, so diving is more limited. Book the calm-water months for the clearest reefs and the easiest first dives.
How to Reach & Permits
Most divers fly into Veer Savarkar International Airport (Sri Vijaya Puram / Port Blair, code IXZ), then take a 1.5–2.5-hour ferry to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) or Neil (Shaheed Dweep), the main diving islands. Indian nationals need only a photo ID; foreign nationals require a permit on arrival. The full how-to-reach and permit detail lives on the Andaman travel guide.
