FAQs of Andaman
How do I reach Radhanagar Beach?
Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) is on Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep). Take a ferry from Port Blair's Phoenix Bay Jetty to the Havelock jetty, which takes about 1.5 hours by private catamaran (Makruzz, Nautika, or Green Ocean) or about 2–2.5 hours by government ferry. From the jetty, travel the remaining 10–12 km (about 30 minutes) by cab, auto, rented scooter, or local bus to the beach. There is no flight, train, or road bridge to the beach itself.
How far is Radhanagar Beach from the Havelock jetty?
Radhanagar Beach is about 10–12 km from the Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) jetty, roughly a 20–30 minute drive. A pre-paid cab costs about ₹450 one way, a rented scooter costs around ₹400–700 per day, and the local bus is the cheapest option but runs infrequently. Most visitors rent a scooter so they can reach the beach for sunset and explore the rest of the island as well.
How far is Radhanagar Beach from Port Blair, and can I visit as a day trip?
Yes, a day trip is possible. The ferry from Port Blair to Havelock takes about 1.5–2.5 hours, followed by a 10–12 km drive to Radhanagar Beach. Take an early morning ferry from Phoenix Bay Jetty and a late afternoon return ferry so you do not miss the last sailing. However, staying overnight on Havelock is more relaxed and allows you to enjoy the famous Radhanagar sunset.
