How to Reach Krabi From Mumbai by Flight

Krabi has its own international airport, but no airline flies Mumbai to Krabi nonstop. IndiGo has run a seasonal nonstop to Krabi from India, and that service leaves from Delhi, not Mumbai, so from BOM you will change planes once. Three hubs handle almost all of that traffic.

 • Kuala Lumpur (KUL). About half of all one-stop itineraries route through here, usually the cheapest option out of Mumbai on AirAsia or Malaysia Airlines.

 • Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi BKK or Don Mueang DMK). The fastest total journey. Krabi is a short 1 hour 20 minute hop from Bangkok, and four carriers fly       that leg through the day.

 • Singapore (SIN). Often the shortest layover of the three, on Singapore Airlines or its low-cost arm Scoot.

As for the road, rail and sea "routes" you may see quoted, treat them as trivia rather than options. A road trip would run over 5,700 km and cross Myanmar, taking days; there is no rail line into Krabi (the nearest station is Trang, about two hours away); and there is no passenger ferry from India. For a Mumbai start, air is the only realistic answer.

Arriving at Krabi Airport (KBV) and Getting to the Beaches

Krabi International Airport (KBV) is about 15 km east of Krabi town and roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive from Ao Nang, the main beach base. You have three easy ways onward. The airport shuttle bus is the cheapest, at around 150 baht a head to Ao Nang or Krabi town, and runs to meet arrivals. Shared minivans and songthaews cost a little more and drop closer to your hotel. A metered airport taxi is the quickest door-to-door option if you are travelling as a group or landing late.

Alternate Route: Fly to Phuket (HKT), Then Overland to Krabi

Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the bigger, busier gateway to Thailand's Andaman coast, so it often has more Mumbai connections and, at times, cheaper fares than Krabi itself. If the KBV fare looks steep, price a flight into Phuket and add the overland leg. Krabi is about 160 km from Phuket, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by shared minivan, bus or private transfer, or a scenic combination of road and ferry across Phang Nga Bay. It is worth checking whenever your dates are flexible.

Visa and Entry Requirements for Indians

Indian passport holders can enter Thailand for a short holiday without a pre-arranged visa in 2026 under the visa-exemption scheme, so there is no separate visa cost to factor into a Krabi trip. Carry a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and proof of funds and accommodation, which immigration can ask to see. Rules do change, so confirm the current allowance and any conditions on the official Thai e-visa portal before you fly. Foreign nationals on other passports should check their own entry requirements separately.
