Things To Do In Krabi

Krabi is famous for its limestone karst scenery and its islands: the 4-Island hopping tour, Railay and Phra Nang beaches, Koh Phi Phi and the Hong Islands. On land it is known for the 1,260-step Tiger Cave Temple climb, the Emerald Pool and hot springs inland, and world-class rock climbing on the cliffs at Railay. It is the Andaman coast at its most dramatic, and quieter than Phuket.

Three to four days covers the essentials without rushing: one or two island-hopping days, a day inland for the Tiger Cave Temple and Emerald Pool, and time to slow down on Railay or Ao Nang beach. Two days is enough for a single island tour and one land day. Most Indian travellers give Krabi 3 nights and pair it with Phuket, which is why a 5-day, 4-night trip is the most common length we plan.

Ao Nang is the hub after dark: its walking street is lined with seafood grills, cocktail bars and massage shops, and nearby stadiums run live Muay Thai fight nights. Krabi Town has a weekend night market with street food and live music, and Railay has a low-key bar scene with fire shows on the beach. They suit different trips. Krabi is calmer, more scenic and better for nature, climbing and island hopping, with fewer crowds and a lower average spend. Phuket has the bigger nightlife, more resorts and direct flights.
