How to Reach Krabi from Delhi by Flight

Start with the part that changes everything, because the old advice is out of date. IndiGo now flies a nonstop Delhi to Krabi service, launched in late 2025 and running several times a week on an Airbus A320. It leaves Delhi and lands at KBV about three to four hours later, no layover to sweat over. For years every guide told you there were no direct flights and that you had to route through Bangkok on an eight-hour-plus itinerary. That is simply no longer true. When the nonstop is flying on your dates, it is far and away the easiest way to reach Krabi from Delhi: one plane, one boarding pass.

If the nonstop is sold out on your dates, or a connecting fare comes in cheaper, you change planes once. Two hubs handle almost all of that traffic, and the choice between them is a straight trade of time against money.

• Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi BKK or Don Mueang DMK). Usually the cheapest one-stop and often the shortest total layover. Krabi is a quick 1 hour 25 minute hop from Bangkok, flown through the day by Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways and Thai Vietjet.

• Kuala Lumpur (KUL). A common one-stop out of Delhi, usually on AirAsia or Malaysia Airlines, and often the lowest connecting fare of all.

Airlines and Routes from Delhi to Krabi

Who flies what, and roughly how long each option takes. Connecting times include a typical layover; fares are indicative one-way starting points that move with season and how early you book.

One correction worth stating plainly, because older listings for this route repeat it. There is no through-carrier called "Thai International Airlines" flying Delhi to Krabi. The real airline is Thai Airways International, and on a connection it flies at most the Bangkok-to-Krabi leg, not a single Delhi-to-KBV service. The carriers named above are the ones that genuinely operate the route today.

Delhi to Krabi Flight Cost and Best Time to Book

One-way fares from Delhi sit in a wide band. A cheap one-stop through Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur can start near Rs 9,500, while the IndiGo nonstop and fast, well-timed routings run closer to Rs 12,500 to Rs 18,000. Return fares typically land somewhere around Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000, with peak-season and last-minute seats higher. Two things move the number more than anything else.

• The calendar. September tends to be the cheapest month to fly this route, while the November to April peak and the long Indian holiday weekends push prices up.

• Lead time. Booking roughly 40 to 90 days out usually catches the best deals. Last-minute seats on this route, direct or connecting, get expensive fast.

From Krabi Airport (KBV) to Krabi Town, Ao Nang and Railay

Krabi International Airport (KBV) is about 15 km east of Krabi town and roughly a 30 to 45 minute drive from Ao Nang, the main beach base. You have three easy ways onward. The airport shuttle bus is the cheapest, at around THB 150 a head to Ao Nang or Krabi town, and it runs to meet arrivals. Shared minivans and songthaews cost a little more and drop closer to your hotel. A metered airport taxi is the quickest door-to-door option if you are in a group or landing late.

"If you land on the evening nonstop, prebook a car or grab the shuttle straight to Ao Nang. The last cheap airport buses thin out after dark, and a metered taxi is the reliable late-night option," says the TravelTriangle Thailand desk. 

Thai Visa and Entry Requirements for Indians (2026)

This is the part to check most carefully, because the rule changed in 2026. The earlier arrangement that let Indian passport holders enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days has been withdrawn. In its place you should expect either a visa on arrival, at around THB 2,000 for a short stay of up to 15 days, or a 60-day e-Visa applied for online before you travel, and in both cases a mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) filled in ahead of landing. Carry a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and proof of funds and accommodation, any of which immigration can ask to see. Because this is a moving target, confirm the current allowance, fee and conditions on the official Thai e-Visa and immigration portal before you book. Foreign nationals on other passports should check their own entry requirements separately.

By Road and By Train: The Honest Answer

You will see road, rail and even sea "routes" quoted for this trip by map tools. Treat them as trivia, not options. Driving from Delhi to Krabi runs about 4,899 km and takes 88 hours or more of actual driving, crossing Manipur and Nagaland and then the borders of Myanmar and Thailand. It is a genuine overland expedition, not a way to reach a beach holiday, and the Myanmar transit is restricted for foreign tourists. There is no rail line into Krabi either. No train connects India to Thailand, and the nearest station to Krabi is Trang, a couple of hours away inside Thailand. There is no passenger ferry from India. For a Delhi start, air is the only realistic answer, which is exactly why this guide leads with flights.
