From Montenegro’s rugged landscapes to sun-drenched beaches in Portugal, the list of places to visit in Europe is endless. Be it England or Italy, European countries are full of unique travel attractions like stunning castles, royal museums, riverfront restaurants, cobblestone streets, and more. It is nearly impossible to round up all the best travel destinations in Europe within a single travel guide. Let’s take a closer look at the best holiday destinations in Europe below:

One of the best places to go in Europe and the epicenter of the Western Civilization, Rome is a city of weight and wisdom; a wilderness of ornamental artworks including sculpted fountains, royal palaces, and gladiatorial arenas. Gondola rides in Venice, shopping in Milan, and a sightseeing trip to Pisa are among the best things to do in Italy. The cradle of the Renaissance movement, Florence is like an attack on visual senses. Art history buffs and honeymooners would love a guided visit to art galleries in Florence like Uffizi and Duomo. After a romantic stroll on the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, do plan a day trip to the famed vineyards in Tuscany.

Nicknamed “The City of Lights,” Paris is another one of the best cities to visit in Europe and a fairy-land where the Notre-Dame Cathedral rises by the Seine and Eiffel Tower casts a long shadow over extensive lawns and tree-lined boulevards. Hop on a bicycle and paddle along the historical canals in Copenhagen while admiring the city’s stunning architecture and heritage. No place in Europe is a match for Budapest’s uber-cool nightlife. The Hungarian capital is a paradise for young travelers seeking cultural enrichment. With a gorgeous backdrop of forested hills, the city of Oslo has no dearth of natural beauty or monuments about Vikings history. Salzburg, Stockholm, Berlin, Belgrade, Tallinn, and Bucharest are among the best places to visit in Europe to visit on a summer vacation.

From the Atlantic Coast to the Alps, there are plenty of places to see in Europe. The town of Ceský Krumlov is a hidden gem located two hours from Prague – the city with a bohemian heart. Barcelona and Madrid are frequented by sports lovers and sun dwellers from around the world. One of the top destinations in Europe, Kraków in Poland is a treasure trove and has a well-preserved Jewish quarter. There's more to Dublin beyond pints of beer—like historical monuments dating back to the 13th century.

Among the best places to travel in Europe, Athens in Greece is a perfect place to delve into the golden days of Classical Antiquity. The island of Santorini is famous for soaring cliffs and sapphire waters. It is an ideal place to sample delicious Greek cuisine and to watch the sun slide in the Aegean Sea. Travelers try hard not to fall in love with Baroque buildings and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea from Dubrovnik, an ideal place to enjoy the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle.

Known for its coastal beauty, the city of Helsinki features Art Nouveau architecture and is visited for world-renowned saunas. Lucerne is as storybook as Switzerland can get. The city is a popular alternative to Geneva and a convenient launch-pad for adventure activities in the Alps. Around every bend of the Danube or a summit in the Alps, places in Europe are ideal to visit any time of the year.

France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Germany are some of the most visited places in Europe. Best Christmas Markets in Europe

Both Vienna and Rome are world-famous for their Christmas markets. The otherwise sleepy city of Vienna comes to life during the holiday season with Christmas around the corner. Horse-drawn carriages and uber-cool nightlife make Vienna a premier spot. What better way to celebrate the birth of Christ than in the holy Vatican City in Rome. Zagreb in Croatia, Colmar in France, and Budapest in Hungry are other popular markets in Europe.

Nandini's 5 days trip to Europe

We had good ex0erience with Wise hatra starting from visa assistance till the end. Thanks a lot . *Greetings from Nandini Aravind...* Thank you for assisting us with the Austria trip starting from the visa application. *Day 1*: As soon as we reached Vienna , we got freshened up and went on to visit a few places like St. Peter's cathedral and nearby places like Albertina platz . We could attend a violin concert at the cathedral on the same day from 8.30 pm. *Day 2* : As mentioned in the iternary, we went to Schonbrunn Palace and enjoyed the tour. Later, we took a combo ticket and visited Zoo, Desert palace , and botanical garden within 5pm. Zoo should be one of the must visit places as it includes penguins, pandas, koala, polar bears, and more. We did a hike at Schonbrunn, which had an amazing view. The same day, we went to Giant ferris Wheel at the amusement park and wandered around. Personally, I didn't like the ferries wheel much. *Day 3*: We booked train tickets to Melk near Danube Valley. We went on cruise till Krems and returned at around 5 pm to Vienna. We visited the rest of the places near Belvedre, Sisi Museum, etc. *Day 4*: We came to Salsburg by 4 pm and went directly to the St.peter church area. Visited all the nearby platz ,Mirabell platz. *Day 5* : We started to Hallstatt at 8.45 am bus ( had soothing views during the journey) . Reached Bad isch and then took the train to Hallstatt, ferry to lake side. We visited Beanhaus, charnel house, and cathedral. Paying for the bone house was not worth it. Then we went to Skywalk via cable car. Paid around 48 euro per person for Skywalker saltmine. Saltmine tour was really good and interesting . The tour itself was for 1.5 hours. We spent around 4 hours in Hallstatt Hills . By 4.30 pm , we came down and started back . Reached Salsburg at around 6 pm. Just roamed around and bought some gifts for loved ones. Through the journey , we used Google maps to catch the bus, train, and trams and to find washrooms (WC). Best western at Salsburg had very limited options in breakfast compared to the other two places .
