Darjeeling is a place of immense beauty. Possibly one of the biggest tourist attractions in West Bengal, there are many beautiful places to visit in Darjeeling. Famed for its distinctive black tea, and its narrow gauge railway or the “Toy Train”, tourist places in Darjeeling have a rustic charm.

The best places to visit in Darjeeling include Tiger Hill. A beautiful sunrise accompanied by hot tea from local vendors is a must at one of the experiences to have in Darjeeling. With some luck, this hill spot located just eleven kilometers from the town offers clear views of Mount Kanchenjunga from its observatory. Sightseeing in Darjeeling can be kick-started from this brilliant location.

Another great Darjeeling tourist spot is the Tea Garden. Having said that, some of the finest tea in India is grown, processed, and exported to the U.K. and the Netherlands from the backyard of Darjeeling. Tea gardens possibly the most interesting place as they show tourists the entire process of tea manufacture. At the end of the tour, there are tea-tasting sessions in the boutique shop. This tea can be purchased only at this Darjeeling tourist spot as it is of export quality and remains unavailable in Indian markets.

For pure fun and sightseeing in Darjeeling, the Batasia Loop close to Tiger Hill is marvelous too. A ride on the Toy Train as it loops around the narrow-gauge railway track is worth every penny spent. With flowery gardens, small hills, clear views of Kanchenjunga Mountain Peak, and the War Memorial of the Gorkha regiment martyrs, this is one of the best places to visit in Darjeeling.
