Take a flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to Bhuntar which takes around 1 hr 20 min on the flight journey. Air India provides with daily flights from Delhi to Bhuntar.You can then opt for a bus or a cab which will take around 2 hours for you to reach Manali from Bhuntar Airport. Delih To Manali By Train: The nearest rail head to Manali is Joginder Nagar Railway station about 163 km away. There is no direct train to Joginder Nagar from Delhi. To reach this station, you have to first take a train to Pathankot (8-10 hrs) and then opt for another train from Pathankot to Joginder Nagar (9-11 hrs). You have to then opt for a bus to reach Manali which will take 5 to 6 hours.Alternatively, you can take a train to Chandigarh from Delhi (3-5 hrs). From Chandigarh Railway Station, Manali is about 315 km for which you can book a cab or opt for a bus which should take around 8 to 9 hours.Delih To Manali By Road: The distance between Manali and Delhi is 536.3 km. You can opt to self drive or hire a cab. It takes about 11 to 12 hours on a road journey from Delhi to reach Manali. Also, there are a number of semi-sleeper buses that ply daily to Manali from Delhi (ISBT Kashmere Gate).

Snowfall in Manali in December, especially around Christmas and New Year's Eve, is common. It is rare to see snowfall in Manali in November or October.
Manali has quite a few markets that have very specific items that you can buy. At Manu Market near Mall Road, woollens are available for sale and are quite nice and quaint. There is also the Old Market that has a lot of souvenir items for sale. The Tibetan Market is a place for Tibetan handicrafts and jewellery. You could also pick up a jar of apple pickle, as it is local and delicious.
The local language spoken in Manali is a dialect of the Pahari language called Mandiali. However, Hindi works everywhere in Manali as well and most of the locals do understand and speak English as well.
The best time to visit Manali is between October-February, during the winter season, when the whole town is covered in snowfall. This is also the ideal time for honeymooners. Summer is also ideal for trekkers as some of the higher trek points become inaccessible in winter.
If you want to travel by air, the nearest airport is the Kullu-Manali airport at Bhuntar. You can get a taxi from there to take you to Manali.
