Zorbing In Manali, Himachal
Tumble Down The Hills in Khajjiar And Enjoy Zorbing
Rated 4.20/5 ( based on 10840 reviews )
About Zorbing in Manali
Zorbing is one of Manali’s most popular adventure activities, and almost all of it happens on the grassy slopes of Solang Valley, about 14 km from town. You climb inside a large double-walled plastic ball, get strapped in beside a friend or a guide, and roll down the hillside while the world tumbles around you. The padding does the hard work. Even if the ball knocks against a rock or a bush on the way down, it bounces off and rolls on to the flat run-out at the bottom, and the harness keeps you from being thrown around inside.
The ride is short and fast. One roll is over in a minute or two, which is exactly why most people queue up for a second and third go, and at these prices you can. Operators run three versions on the slope: dry hill zorbing, the classic downhill roll; water (aqua) zorbing, where a little water is added inside the ball for extra slide; and snow zorbing when the higher slopes near Marhi and Gulaba still hold snow in early spring.

Where to Do Zorbing in Manali
Solang Valley is the main zorbing ground, roughly 14 km and a 40-minute drive up the Manali to Rohtang road. The wide, gentle meadow here is what makes it safe to roll, and it doubles as the hub for paragliding, the ropeway and snow play, so a single trip up covers several activities. On busy spring weekends you will also find zorbing set up higher near Marhi and Gulaba on the way to Rohtang Pass. Our guide to reaching Solang Valley covers the drive, cabs, and the nearest airport and railhead.
Best Time for Zorbing in Manali
The slopes are best from April to June, once the winter snow has melted and the grass is dry and firm. That is peak season, so go early in the day to beat the queues. A second, shorter window opens after the monsoon, roughly late September into October. Zorbing usually pauses through deep winter and the heavy monsoon weeks, when the ground turns slushy. Daily zorbing timings run across the morning and afternoon.
Safety, Age and What to Know
Zorbing at Solang is run by trained operators who strap you in and check the harness before every roll, so it is safe for first-timers and children alike. It suits most ages, roughly 5 to 60 years, and two people can share a ball, which is why it is a favourite with families. No skill or preparation is needed. Wear clothes you do not mind getting a little wet if you try the water version, and hold on to phones and loose items before you climb in. For more on what to wear and carry, read our zorbing tips. Zorbing pairs naturally with the other things to do in Manali, from paragliding at Solang to a full Manali adventure tour.

Zorbing in Manali is carried out by professionals and trained experts so it is safe to indulge in this activity.
How much does zorbing in Manali cost?
Zorbing starts from around ₹300 per ride for standard hill zorbing, and water or longer premium rolls run up to about ₹500. Prices vary a little by operator and season. See our entry fees page for the current rates and online booking.
Where can you do zorbing in Manali?
The main spot is Solang Valley, about 14 km from Manali on the road to Rohtang. In early spring you can also find zorbing set up higher up near Marhi and Gulaba, where the slopes hold snow a little longer.
What is the best time for zorbing in Manali?
The best time for zorbing in Manali is during the summer season (April to June) when the snow melts and the grassy slopes are ideal for this activity.
How long does one zorbing ride last?
A single roll down the slope is quick, over in about a minute or two, though you should budget roughly ten minutes for the walk up, harnessing and the ride itself. Because each turn is so short, most people do two or three rounds in one visit.
