About Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong

After San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro, the third largest harbour in the world is situated in Hong Kong known as Victoria Harbour commonly called as Victoria Bay. It is located between  Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula. Most of the ports of Hong Kong are located here. The harbour was named after the British Queen Victoria. Victoria Harbour is a prime tourist attraction for people from all across the world who come to visit Hong Kong each year. Its beautiful panorama makes it one of the favorites for people visiting Hong Kong.

Victoria Harbour is surrounded by interesting tourist attractions on both sides. So you can tour the attractions around the harbour, including prestigious museums, public parks, amusement areas and zoo and enjoy the sea breeze with beautiful landscape. You can turn your experience into something magical by taking a cruise aboard a ferry. There can be no better way to amuse yourself with the magic of harbour than by taking Star Ferry. It is a passenger ferry service operator that carries passengers across the harbour. Another amazing fact about this ferry is that other than the ferry service it also provides a night time cruise for two hours so that the visitors can enjoy the harmony of lights and gets spellbound. The harbour is always busy either it's day or night with all types of watercrafts such as cruise liners, cargo ships, fishing vessels and Star Ferries.

So many huge public shows are hosted on Victoria harbour every now and then as it is the center of Hong Kong’s urban region, such as the annual fireworks are the popular gathering place for visitors and residents. There are so many amazing things to do at the harbour. You can ride the Star Ferry, which is a cheap but most amazing experience. It travels back and forth every 8 to 13 minutes and it has two passenger seating levels out of which lower level is mostly preferred by visitors as the view is better from there as compared to the upper level. Other things to do are enjoying the Avenue of Stars and the Symphony of Lights, see the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade and walk around taking the pictures. Those who have a thing for shopping can go to the biggest mall in Hong Kong which is Harbour City Mall right there in the harbour.

If you want to see the harbour from the tall you can visit from beautifully built skyscrapers. The view of Victoria harbour from the skyscraper shows a legion of lights twinkling at night, making it so magical that this panorama is included in the top three best scenes of the world together with Hakodate in Japan and Naples in Italy.
