About Mubarak Mandi Palace in Jammu

Once a royal residence of former kings of the Dogra Dynasty now stands as a famous historical site in Jammu. Mubarak Mandi Palace is one of the most visited places in Jammu and Kashmir. It overlooks the Tawi river. The palace is a work of many Dogra rulers. Its architectural style shows the resemblance of Mughal and European architectural styles. The palace is equipped with art galleries, lavish courtyards, neverending halls and every ounce of luxury that can be found in a palace. In the past, it was the residence of the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir. The palace has different sections such as Darbar Hall, Pink Hall, Gol Ghar, Rani Charak Palace, Hawa Mahal, Toshakhana Palace, Sheesh Mahal, etc.

Sections of Mubarak Mandi Palace, Jammu

Sheesh Mahal: Just as the name suggests One can marvel at the wonders of glasswork entering Sheesh Mahal. The place has been made entirely of glass. It is a beautiful place to visit and adore art.

Pink Hall: Within the walls of Pink Hall, one can visit the Dogra Art Museum. Here, you will find a plethora of artwork and paintings. You will also find gold plated bow and arrow that is said to belong to Shah Jahan.

Gol Ghar: Gol Ghar is another section of Mubarak Mandi Palace. However, this section of the palace was damaged by earthquakes that took place in the 1980s.

    The hotels were 3 star and charging 7k per night in Gulmarg was not good. Had to carry bags due to road blocked by snow, cigarate buds in bed, no TV working, heater was small and making noise. The hotel near lal chowk was too missing TV and no care for customer, no cleaning.
