About Mansar Lake in Jammu

Jammu being a popular tourist destination has many scenic attractions that are perfect for an excursion for tourists. If you are looking for a family place in Jammu to have some relaxing and pleasing time with your loved one, then Mansar Lake should be your go to place in Jammu. A very quaint and serene place to visit, Mansar Lake is often surrounded by flocks of tourists hence the most ideal time to visit the lake would be early in the morning at around 07:00 am as it gets open at 07:00 am. During this time, you will be able to witness the tranquil atmosphere here. The lake is very famous for activities like boating and fishing.

Surrounded by lush greenery, dense forests, and hills, Mansar Lake provides for the stunning landscape which is worthy of being captured. In close proximity to the Mansar Lake lies Surinsar Lake which is often called the twin lake of Mansar Lake. Not only famous as a picnic spot, Mansar Lake in J&K is also a spiritual place due to the presence of two temples here which are considered to be highly devotional. The two temples here are Durga Temple and the temple of Umapai Mahadev and Narasimha. Lying amidst the natural environment, the waters of Mansar Lake are also considered to be holy and it is believed that a dip in the waters of the lake takes away all the sins. Many religious ceremonies are also performed here. Manesar Lake depth is around 38 meters. The eccentric variety of flora and fauna found here definitely needs a place in your cameras.
