The Palace demonstrates the lifestyle of Maratha rulers in an elaborate form. As was the trend among the late Indian Nobility, the gorgeous interior is largely dominated by the European architecture along with beautiful Italian marble pillars. The main gates of the Lal Bagh Palace were shipped from England and are a replica of the gates of Buckingham Palace, London. The gates also carry the Holkar state emblem.
Besides all this, the Lal Bagh Palace, Indore has also maintained a huge garden of roses which adds beauty to the complex. The palace is also a retreat to the art lovers as it exhibits a number of contemporary Indian and Italian paintings and sculptures. Some of its other amazing features include its lavish interior decorations which contains Italian marble columns, Persian carpets, grand chandeliers etc. In addition, the Lal Bagh Palace also showcases a magnificent ballroom which has a wooden base mounted on springs for extra bounce.
The whole complex has a total area of 28 acres and is renowned for its unique blend of displaying the late Indian rulers and nobility with that of modern European architecture. So, Lal Bagh Palace is surely not an attraction to be missed out on your visit to Indore or Madhya Pradesh as a whole. Arunabha's 10 days trip to IndoreGwalior: Hotel Landmark A professional hotel that provided standard room and substantial breakfast, however the restaurant food quality is not good. Tourists generally prefer homely food. Also tired senior citizens would prefer to have dinner at the hotel. Tourists also prefer to have a window to look out of. Packed Breakfast only Aloo paratha. Nothing else. Khajuraho: Hotel Isabel Palace - Good hotel. Food quality good although much delayed. Bandhavgarh: Tiger Trails Resort: Good professionally maintained Resort with excellent service. Amarkantak: Hotel The Residency - Totally unprofessional. Poor service. Rude front desk.
