The physical distance between India and Pattaya is 4563 km. The fastest and easiest mode of conveyance is obviously by air. Several international carriers fly to and fro from India to Pattaya and back, catering to the ever-enthusiastic tourists travelling to Thailand’s favourite resort city.

By Air

The flying distance between India and Pattaya varies from 2500 km to 3000 km, which is much less than the road distance. So flying to Pattaya is the best way to reach from any Indian city. The nearest airport in Pattaya is the U-Tapao Airport located 30 km away in the Rayong district. But the most frequented airport for going to Pattaya is Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Most Indian flights, like Delhi to Pattaya or Mumbai to Pattaya make a stop at Bangkok, while some others halt at Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. The fastest flight takes around 11 hours 30 minutes total, done by the Thai Airways. Pattaya being only 150 km away from Bangkok, most people like to break the journey, and take another flight or minivan from outside the airport to Pattaya.

By Train

Reaching from India to Pattaya via rail is not a feasible option. However, one can take train to southern India from northern part since Chennai to Pattaya or Bangalore to Pattaya flights are often more frequent and less costly. One can take Bangkok to Pattaya train from Hua Lumphong station as well. This is a pocket-friendly way to get to Pattaya from the capital. The three hour ride takes less than 40 TBH and starts at 7 am everyday. There is a small stop at Pattaya Tai station for the famous beach of Jomtien. Otherwise Pattaya is the main station for the city.

By Road

Going from India to Pattaya via road is not a very convenient journey, but also not an impossible one. The India-Myanmar-Thailand Highway road has made it possible for anyone to drive down to Bangkok from Manipur. From there one can take one of the many options to go cover the distance between Bangkok and Pattaya. There are the pre-booked mini buses that cost around 200-250 TBH or the cabs that take some 700-800 TBH. There are Bangkok airport to Pattaya bus services available from Transfer Centre of Suvarnabhumi Airport every 1.5 hours. If one is not going straight from the Bangkok airport but after a few days stay in the capital, they can easily take a luxury bus from Ekkamai Bus Terminal in eastern Bangkok. They depart every 30 minutes throughout the day. Buses ply from other locations as well, like Sukhumvit Road, Mo Chit Northern Terminal and Sai Tai Mai Southern Terminal.
