How to Reach Pattaya

To know how to go Pattaya from India, one must be aware of the different means of transport to make the journey. Though, the only mode of conveyance to cover the physical distance of 4563 km between India and Pattaya is via boarding a plane from Bangkok.

How to reach Pattaya from Bangkok:

As Pattaya does not house an airport of its own, one can board a plane to Bangkok, and drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport which is 120 kms away from Pattaya. Located on the eastern Gulf coast of Thailand, the city has numerous boutique hotels, bars, and shopping malls to keep its visitors hooked. It takes around 1.5 hours to drive from the Bangkok airport to Pattaya. One can also opt for the cheapest mode of transportation, and board a local train from Hua Lamphong Station to reach the destination with a three-hour drive.

Here is our detailed guide to help you find how to reach Pattaya from India.

By Air

The flying distance between India and Pattaya varies from 2500 km to 3000 km, which is much less than the road distance. However,  it is not feasible to reach Pattaya to India by flight. The nearest airport in Pattaya is the U-Tapao Airport, which is located 30 km away at Sattahip, having limited connectivity to a few of destinations. But the most frequented airport for going to Pattaya is Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Most Indian flights, like Delhi to Pattaya or Mumbai to Pattaya make a stop at Bangkok, while some others halt at Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. The fastest flight takes around 11 hours 30 minutes total, done by the Thai Airways. Pattaya being only 150 km away from Bangkok, most people like to break the journey, and take another flight or minivan from outside the airport to Pattaya.
