About Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh

Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh is ideally located on the banks of Ganga and so close is the holy river to the Ashram that it seems to permeate your being with its holiness, be it your room or the private ghat at the Ashram. There are many rooms in the Ashram that gives you a soothing view of Ganga from your window. When you look around, you see you are in the lap of the lower ranges of the Himalayas with its lush green slopes of sub-tropical forests, gradually terminating in the precincts of Parmarth Niketan and then into holy Ganga. It is the largest Ashram in Rishikesh with over 1000 rooms for the pilgrims.

Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh is a home of peace. No one but peace itself is your companion there. You feel free and full of energies floating in the serene atmosphere, the positive vibes of the saintly people and echoes of sloka recitations and reverberations of Om. The peaceful smiling faces of Swamis and fellow residents emanate energy vibes like a refreshing breeze coming from the surface of Ganga waters.

Parmarth Niketan History

Parmarth Niketan Ashram was founded in the year 1942 by Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj who was a great saint. It is now headed under the leadership of Pujya Swani Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj. The ashram looks after thousands of devotees who come to Rishikesh in order to gain peace and relaxation.

Parmarth Niketan Daily Activities

The daily activities of Parmarth Niketan ashram include Yoga sessions, specializing in Vinyasa Yoga, general Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Parmarth Niketan’s most awaited event of the day is aarti at sunset on the shores of Ganga. It is a surreal experience, even if you can’t decipher the full meaning of shlokas and the words of aarti, still it touches your very core. One can indulge in various other activities that are conducted in this ashram on a daily basis like universal morning prayers, regular meditation classes, daily Satsang and lecture programs, bhajans and kirtans, along with ayurvedic treatment to cure disorders.

Driver was not finalized till 10:00 pm one day before. Provided hotel vouchers after repeated follow ups. During the entire booking process he was trying to extract more and more money.
