How To Reach Radhanagar Beach : Port Blair to Havelock, Then to Beach

Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) is on the west coast of Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep), in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. There is no flight, train or road bridge to the beach, reach it in two steps: take a ferry from Port Blair to Havelock (private catamaran ~1.5 h / government ferry ~2–2.5 h), then travel ~10–12 km (about 30 minutes) by cab, auto, rented scooter or local bus from the Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) jetty to the beach. Once your ferry docks at the Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) jetty, Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) is about 10–12 km away on the island's west coast, roughly a 20–30 minute drive. You have four options: a pre-paid cab/taxi (~Rs 450 one-way), an auto-rickshaw, a rented scooter (~Rs 400–700/day) or the local bus (cheapest, but infrequent). A rented scooter is the most popular choice as it lets you reach the beach for the sunset and explore the rest of Havelock at your own pace. There is no road bridge or direct vehicle access from the mainland, this short island hop is the only way to cover the final stretch.

Tip: Radhanagar is a west-facing beach famous for its sunset, so time your jetty?beach trip for late afternoon. If you are doing it as a day trip from Port Blair, take an early-morning ferry and a late-afternoon return so you are not racing the last sailing back.

Best time to visit, entry fee and beach timings

The best time to visit Radhanagar Beach is October to May, when the seas are calm and the ferries run reliably; the southwest monsoon (June–September) can disrupt sailings. There is no entry fee for the beach itself; it is open through the day, but the sunset point and water activities typically wind down by around 5–6 pm, and lifeguards may restrict swimming at dusk. Plan to arrive by mid-afternoon to enjoy the beach and the sunset without rushing the return ferry.
