What Is The Best Time To Visit Kashmir?

Kashmir in Summer

Summer in Kashmir starts in the month of March and lasts till May, it is the best time to visit the destination as the weather is pleasant in summer. It is also a peak season in Kashmir as tourists prefer travelling to Kashmir in the summer season to escape the scorching heat of the cities. Due to the summer season, days can be a little hot but nights are cold in Kashmir even during the summer season. It is the best time to travel around and explore places as all the sightseeing spots are open during this time and the weather conditions are favourable for travelling.

Kashmir in Winter

The Winter season in Kashmir starts in the month of November and ends around February. Kashmir is in its best form during the winter season with fresh snowfall, snow-laden mountains and chilling weather. However, travelling to Kashmir in the winter season is not everyone’s cup of tea, as the weather can get extremely cold. It is also not the best time to visit if you want to explore places, as most of the places are closed due to the extreme snowfall. It is also the best time to enjoy all the winter sports activities.

Kashmir in Monsoon

The monsoon season in Kashmir starts in the month of June and lasts till September. The monsoon season in Kashmir is not extreme, the place does not receive heavy rainfall during this time. But the rain showers help in cooling down the temperature. Considering it is the off-season, one can plan their trip to Kashmir in monsoon season to get the best deal on hotel booking and flight tickets.

Kashmir is a year-round destination for families. While Gulmarg, for its winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, is best visited during December - February, Sonamarg can only be visited during summers. Most agents and locals, therefore, consider summers to be the best time to visit Kashmir. For those looking for a summer retreat from the hotter cities of Delhi and Chandigarh, Kashmir is one of the best places to visit during summer vacations. With our Kashmir itinerary for families, tourists can indulge in a shikara ride on the Dal Lake, explore Mughal gardens in Srinagar, enjoy pony rides in Sonamarg, and skiing in Gulmarg in winter.

Jamuna's 5 days trip to Kashmir

We had booked for kashmir tour package through travel triangle, we received quotes from 3 travel agencies in kashmir and we chose kashmir heaven. Fathima provided quotes for 3 star hotels which I asked to change to 4star hotels. We booked for 5 nights and 6 days. Vehicle arranged was good and driver was ok but did not act as tour guide, he was only acting as driver till end. Among hotels booked Ennco resorts, White water resorts and Khaleel palace were good but we were not happy with zaryab and cherry ripe house boat. At house boat it was worst experience and ghulam attendant was very rude, food was very bad, there was no hot water, bathrooms were unhygenic. We checked in at 8pm and wanted to spend some time in houseboat to enjoy night view but by 10 pm we were asked to go back to rooms and not sit in entrance area. Morning there was no tea provided and breakfast was provided too late at 9 am. Manager of Kashmir heaven Shahid had told us that he will refund for houseboat but its been more than 2 weeks nothing has been done. During our visit we were taken to only selected shops for purchasing, we were not given options to go to market or shop from different vendors. Though our trip was good and safe, we were not 100% happy with services, 70% was good hence I have rated 3 star.

I recently took a trip to Kashmir organized by Kashmir heavens tours and travels, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! Every detail was thoughtfully planned, from the accommodation and transportation to the well-curated itinerary. The team was incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring that we felt comfortable and informed every step of the travel. I want to give a huge thank you to our driver Sameer for making our trip truly exceptional. He went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the journey. Sameer navigated every road with expertise and care, making the drives enjoyable and relaxing. He was always punctual, helpful with our luggage, and had a warm, friendly attitude that made us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver. Communication was smooth and clear, and any questions we had before or during the trip were answered promptly by Fatima. I felt like I was in safe hands throughout, which allowed me to fully relax and enjoy my travels.

The first stay at House Boat was best of all stays because of theirs due care and hospitality. Second night stay at Ascot hotel was bad experience and third day they have changed the room some how better. Food was available in another hotel. Fourth stay at Pehalgam resort was good for location but lack of total services. Half of the time power supply was not there. Room was too small that extra bed placed on the way to washroom. But trip advisor Aiman services were wonderful and caring. Supported all the times. Can driver Nadeem was a best experienced driver with scheduled timings. Overall trip was nice except stay at Ascot hotel House boat stay and their hospitality
