About Pandoh Dam in Kullu

The Pandoh Dam is a dam built on the Beas River in Mandi and is situated at a distance of ten kilometers from Manali. It was built with the primary purpose of generating hydroelectric power. This dam is managed by BBMB (Bhakra Beas Management Board). This magnificent Pandoh Dam in Kullu has a manmade lake which is created by the dam. The water of this dam is used to generate electricity at the Dehar Power House and is finally released into the Sutlej River. It is located at a distance of around sixty kilometers from Kullu and one will need four hours in approximation to start from Kullu and complete visiting and sightseeing of this place.

The breathtaking views that the surroundings of the Pandoh Dam offer are too precious to miss. This is the perfect location to stop by and click some great pictures while traveling to Manali. The greenery of the place and picturesque view rejuvenates the soul. One of the most mesmerizing views to enjoy here is to see lovely water birds in the captivating greenish blue waters of the Pandoh Dam.

Swimming and boating are not allowed in this place due to security reasons. However, this is one of the best places that one may plan to visit for camping and picnic in Kullu. Some of the other famous tourist attractions nearby are River Beas, Barot Dam, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple and Bandli Wildlife Sanctuary. as awesome, we ( myself, my husband and our son) enjoyed a lot, We visited Amritsar, Dharamshala and Dalhousie. Visited the much awaited Golden temple and Wagha Border parade. Enjoyed the mesmerizing scenic beauty of nature , including the life-time experience of paragliding. The hotel room in Amritsar was congested and lacked in proper ventilation, though the staffs were very amicable. They served 3 bottles of free mineral water to us while we checked out, The hotels in Dharamshala and Dalhousie were very nice , with picturesque beauty and amicable stuffs. All thanks to our trip guide Sunakshi Sharma from Travel Triangle and our travel agent Ms Urmila. Our Driver Mr. Kanhaiya was cooperative and guided us throughout the trip. Our car was having some problem with the AC. When this problem was reported to Ms Urmila, she took this matter seriously and replaced the car at Dharamshala, which is much appreciated. in. Not recommended at all. Dalhousie. khajar and Driver that you had arranged. Those were best parts of the trip. Driver became our family member ! He is one of the best drivers I have ever came across including the one I use daily for my office trips. God bless him !

We had a trip plan for Dharamsala- Dalbousie-Amritsar. The stay was good in Dharamsala & Dalhousie but in Amritsar the hotel was horrible. The restaurant there was not clean and unhygienic.
