History of Shikari Devi Temple

The temple is believed to be in existence during the time of Pandavas, and in the archaic days the hunters (shikaris) used to worship the goddess in order to touch the success in their hunts. The deity of the temple is called the Shikari Devi and if anyone gathered the guts to build a roof over the top of this majestic temple it would be a complete failure, hence the temple has no roof. The temple also has a great significance in the holy book Markandeya Purana and the mega epic Mahabharata.
