This rule and influence continued for over a while, precisely up till the year 1818 when the British East India Company took over the fortification after winning the third Anglo-Maratha War. This palace has been destroyed, revamped, and curated many times surviving the tides of time. In the present day, it is one of the top places to visit in Pune.
