Rock Climbing In Sigiriya

You can climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress or Pidurangala Rock, depending on your endurance level. The former involves a more difficult hike than the latter. The morning hours are the best time to climb since the site would be relatively uncrowded and the summer heat won’t be at its peak. It takes roughly an hour (or less, depending on your fitness levels) to climb Sigiriya rock. If you head there during peak hours, you may take a bit longer because people usually stop by on the way to take photographs and block the path.

Elephant Watching In Sigiriya

Minneriya National Park are famous for attracting hordes of elephants from the surrounding regions. These elephants usually turn up at the park to feed. This park is home to multiple fields of sugarcane. Sugarcanes are an elephant’s favourite food. It is also known for being home to a range of other animals exotic to Sri Lanka. You can rent out a jeep safari and tour the park. If you go in a group, you will have to pay a nominal fee compared to if you go solo.

Exploring Flora And Fauna In Sigiriya

Kaudulla National Park, which is not so far away from Minneriya National Park is known to house different species of plants and animals native to Sri Lanka. It is a shelter for butterflies, birds and multiple animals, herbaceous plants and shrubs. It attracts many elephants because the park is laden with sugarcane fields. It is immensely popular with tourists. The ideal time to visit this park is in the dry season.

You can go on a hot air balloon ride from November to April. The rest of the time is marked by occasional rainfall, so it would be next to impossible to fly at that time. We have been TravelTriangeling since last 4 trips abroad. That's because of its vast network of service providers. Srilanka was planned 3 yrs back, but the economic crises there held us from moving on. It happened again and we do carry great memories from this trip. The agency Romano Lanka and its coordinator Mrs Minasha was were very helpful. Though, we gave them though time planning and re-planning again and again,.she didn't budge and planned well. My suggestion to future travellers. Never hold back from tasting authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, they are always best available in very local and not so fancy restaurants. Our village safari was where we tasted the best food. Thanks to the old ladies there for their expertise. It would be very convenient if the travel planners include the entry fees for every visiting places, each and every visiting places mandatorily charge entry fees. Paying every time feels very costly. The season we visited was pre monsoon, but thank god it didn't effect our trip. Thanks to TT and Minasha Cultural dance at Kandy was hair raising. Spice garden, Cave temple, Sigaria rock, Sacred tooth relic and the beaches were just awesome and enchanted.
