Vietnam Tour Packages From Chennai

Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An and Saigon trips from Chennai, with flights or land only.: rated 4.6/5 (based on 1204 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹14,280/-

Vietnam Trip from Chennai: Overview

A Vietnam tour package from Chennai starts at Rs 19,920 per person for a 3-night land-only stay in Hanoi. The 4N/5D Hanoi and Ha Long Bay trip costs Rs 62,899 with return flights from Chennai, 4-star hotels and an overnight bay cruise.
One thing to know before you compare prices. No airline flies non-stop from Chennai to Vietnam, so every itinerary connects once, usually through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. Plan on 7 to 11 hours from Anna International Airport to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, layover included.

There is a quicker trick most Chennai travellers don't know about. Take an evening flight to Bengaluru, then board a non-stop red-eye. VietJet leaves at 23:35 for Ho Chi Minh City four nights a week, and Vietnam Airlines leaves at 23:40 for Hanoi on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Both land before 6 am. Every package below is built around whichever route suits your dates, and a local Vietnam expert can change the hotel class, the cruise cabin or the meals (pure veg and Jain included). Vietnam Tour Package Price from Chennai (2026-27)

Most Chennai travellers spend Rs 55,000 to Rs 80,000 per person on a 5 to 6 day Vietnam trip once flights, a mid-range hotel and the Ha Long cruise are added up. The cheapest way in is a land-only package plus a fare you book yourself on a Singapore or Kuala Lumpur connection. The simplest is the Chennai package with flights already inside the price.

Add Rs 25,000 to Rs 42,000 for a return economy ticket from Chennai to any "Extra" row, and US$25 (about Rs 2,200) for the e-visa. Booking 6 to 8 weeks ahead keeps the fare near the bottom of that band. If you want Vietnam at the lowest possible spend, our budget Vietnam packages list more 3 and 4 night options.

How to reach Vietnam from Chennai?

Vietnam can only be reached from Chennai by air, and every route has one stop. Five ways work well, and the right one depends on where in Vietnam you start.

By Air

Route from Chennai Airlines Total time One-way economy fare Lands at
Via Singapore Scoot, Singapore Airlines about 7 to 10 hours from Rs 12,600 Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang
Via Kuala Lumpur AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines about 7 to 11 hours from Rs 14,000 Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc
Via Bangkok Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, IndiGo + VietJet about 8 to 11 hours Rs 14,000 to Rs 21,000 Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc
Via Colombo SriLankan to Colombo, then VietJet (Tue, Thu, Sat) about 8 to 10 hours varies by day Ho Chi Minh City
Via Bengaluru Any Chennai to Bengaluru flight, then VietJet VJ1802 or Vietnam Airlines VN982 overnight about 7 to 9 hours varies, two tickets Ho Chi Minh City (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) or Hanoi (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun)

One-way fares on the main connections run Rs 11,700 to Rs 20,400 into Ho Chi Minh City and Rs 14,400 to Rs 21,300 into Hanoi (Kayak, October 2026). February and April are the cheapest months to fly, while November into Hanoi and December into Ho Chi Minh City cost the most.

The Bengaluru option is the one competitors miss. The Chennai to Bengaluru leg takes about an hour, and the two overnight non-stops land at 05:45 in Hanoi or 06:00 in Saigon, so you lose no sightseeing day. Book both legs on one ticket where you can. If they are separate tickets, leave at least four hours in Bengaluru. Prefer to start the whole trip from Bengaluru? See our Vietnam tour packages from Bangalore.

Distances, airport tips and the full list of carriers sit in our guide on how to reach Vietnam from Chennai.

Ideal Duration

Vietnam is long and thin, and that decides how many days you need. Hanoi sits about 1,150 km from Ho Chi Minh City, a two-hour domestic flight. Add half a day each way for the one-stop flight from Chennai and the picture gets clear.

• 5 to 6 days covers Hanoi and an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise without rushing.

• 7 to 8 days adds Da Nang and Hoi An, or Ho Chi Minh City and the Cu Chi Tunnels.

• 9 to 10 days lets you go north to south, or finish with three slow days on Phu Quoc.

A 5N/6D trip is the sweet spot for a first visit from Chennai. You land in Hanoi, cruise Ha Long, fly south and leave from Ho Chi Minh City.

Sample plan Day by day
5N/6D: Hanoi, Ha Long, Saigon Day 1 land in Hanoi, Old Quarter walk and water puppet show · Day 2 Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda · Day 3 drive to Ha Long, board the cruise, kayak at sunset · Day 4 cave visit, back to Hanoi, evening flight to Ho Chi Minh City · Day 5 Cu Chi Tunnels and the War Remnants Museum · Day 6 fly home via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur
7N/8D: north, centre and south Days 1 to 2 Hanoi · Day 3 Ha Long overnight cruise · Day 4 fly to Da Nang · Day 5 Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge · Day 6 Hoi An old town and the lantern boat · Day 7 fly to Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta day trip · Day 8 fly home

Types of Vietnam Packages from Chennai

Vietnam honeymoon packages from Chennai

Couples from Chennai mostly pick one of two trips. The 3N/4D Hanoi honeymoon at Rs 19,920 per person suits a short break around a long weekend. The 5N/6D Splendid Vietnam Honeymoon at Rs 30,000 adds a Ha Long Bay night and Ho Chi Minh City, with the internal flight already paid. Ask for a balcony cabin on the cruise and a Hoi An lantern evening if you have the extra days. Every couple's option is in our Vietnam honeymoon packages.

Family trips

Families with parents along usually prefer fewer hotel changes and a beach finish. The Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc trip does exactly that, and the 6N/7D family trip adds Siem Reap for Angkor Wat. Book the April to May school holidays by February, when Chennai flights start climbing. More options are in Vietnam family packages.

Groups of friends

Groups of six or more get a private coach and a whole Ha Long boat at a better per-head rate. See Vietnam group tour packages.

With flights or land only

The card marked "Flights from Chennai" quotes one price with your international flights inside. Land-only cards let you use your own fare, miles or a cheaper Scoot or AirAsia deal. Both come with the same local agent and on-trip support.

Best time to visit Vietnam

Vietnam runs about 1,650 km from north to south, so the "best time" depends on which half you're seeing. For most trips from Chennai, November to April suits Hanoi, Ha Long and the south, while the central coast (Da Nang and Hoi An) is wet until about January and best from February to August. Full month-by-month weather is in our best time to visit Vietnam guide.

Winter (November to February)

Winter is the best time for most Vietnam trips from Chennai. Hanoi drops to around 15°C to 20°C, a real change from Chennai heat, so carry a light jacket. Ha Long can be misty in January, but the cruise still sails. The south is dry and sunny, which makes this the right season for Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc. Central Vietnam is still wet until January.

One caution on dates. Tet, the Vietnamese New Year, falls on 6 February 2027. Many shops and family restaurants shut for several days around it, and hotel prices climb. Go for the festival if you want it, otherwise travel a week either side.

Spring and Summer (March to October)

March and April are dry and warm in every region, and the Christmas crowds have gone. From May the south turns rainy, with short afternoon showers rather than all-day rain. Da Nang and Hoi An are at their best from February to August, which makes the central coast the right pick for a May trip. September to November brings typhoon risk to the centre and north, so keep plans flexible then.

Best months to travel from Chennai

Chennai holiday window Where to go in Vietnam Booking tip
Christmas to New Year Anywhere north or south Peak fares. Book 8 weeks ahead
Pongal week (mid-January) Hanoi, Ha Long, Phu Quoc Book by November
Tamil Nadu school holidays (April to May) Da Nang, Hoi An, Ba Na Hills Hot in Saigon. Book by February
Deepavali and Puja breaks (October to November) Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc in late November Central coast is wet, skip it

Vietnam Visa for Indians Travelling from Chennai

Indian passport holders need an e-visa for Vietnam, applied for online before you fly. It costs US$25 for single entry or US$50 for multiple entry, allows a stay of up to 90 days and usually comes through in about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for six months from arrival. Apply on the official evisa.gov.vn portal, print the approval and carry it with your ticket. Before you fly, also fill in the free online pre-arrival declaration at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn (it covers Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phu Quoc airports) and keep the QR code for immigration.

Phu Quoc island allows a 30-day stay without a visa when you fly in from abroad, and on paper also on a same-day connection that never leaves the airport transit area. At Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, though, domestic flights leave from a separate terminal, so most travellers clear immigration there and need the e-visa. Step-by-step help is in our Vietnam visa for Indians guide, and your agent checks the application before you submit it.

Vietnam or Thailand from Chennai?

Many Chennai travellers weigh Vietnam against Thailand. Here is the honest comparison.

Factor Vietnam from Chennai Thailand from Chennai
Flight One stop, about 7 to 11 hours Non-stop to Bangkok, about 3½ hours
Package from Rs 19,920 land only Rs 9,000 land only
Visa E-visa, US$25 Visa-free for Indians
Best for Ha Long cruise, history, cooler north in winter, fewer crowds Short beach break, nightlife, easy first trip abroad

Thailand is quicker and cheaper for a 4-day break. Vietnam rewards a 6-day trip and feels less crowded. Compare both on our Thailand tour packages from Chennai.

Tips For Travellers

Vegetarian and South Indian food

Vegetarian food is easier to find than most people expect. Vietnam has a Buddhist vegetarian tradition, and restaurants marked "chay" serve only meat-free dishes. Hanoi's Old Quarter, Ho Chi Minh City's District 1 and Da Nang all have Indian restaurants, several of them serving dosa and idli. Fish sauce goes into a lot of local cooking, so say "khong nuoc mam" (no fish sauce) when you order. Tell your agent at booking if you need pure veg or Jain meals, and they will be pre-arranged on the Ha Long cruise.

Money and phone

Vietnam uses the dong (VND). Carry US dollars and change them to dong in Vietnam. Rupees are hard to exchange there, and you get a better rate on dollars. Buy a local SIM or eSIM at the airport for cheap data, and download Grab for taxis.

Health and packing

• Carry mosquito repellent, especially from May to October when dengue cases rise in the south.

• Pack light cottons for the south and a warm layer for Hanoi between December and February.

• Try pho, banh mi and egg coffee in Hanoi. Vegetarians can ask for pho chay at any chay restaurant.

• If you can see only part of the country, start with Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Ho Chi Minh City from the price table above.

Ready to plan? Pick a package above or ask for free quotes, and a Vietnam expert will build the trip around your Chennai dates.

Our experience with Asia Luxury Travel was truly exceptional, and a huge part of that credit goes to Joanna Tran. Right from the booking stage, Joanna took the time to understand exactly what we wanted—especially our concerns as we were travelling with a baby. She patiently listened to the itinera
ry I had planned and then suggested thoughtful improvements, including using three hotels instead of two, while keeping the itinerary almost the same. She even managed hotel upgrades without making a significant difference to our overall budget. What impressed me most was that Joanna was available 24×7 throughout the trip. Whether it was a simple query or an unexpected situation, she was always just a message away and responded with incredible speed and ownership. Everything after reaching Phu Quoc was equally smooth—airport transfers, local assistance and even upgraded vehicles were perfectly arranged. The island tour was another highlight. Having professional photographers with us, along with drone photography, was such a wonderful surprise and gave us memories far beyond a regular island-hopping experience. And then came the biggest test on our last evening. We had no clarity about our “Kiss of the Sea” tickets even at 8:45 PM, with the show starting at 9 PM. Joanna immediately jumped in, coordinated everything and got us through the entry just in time. That moment truly showed how seriously she takes her clients. I am genuinely grateful to Joanna for the care, patience, availability and personal attention she gave us throughout the journey. She didn’t make us feel like just another booking—she made us feel looked after. Choosing Asia Luxury Travel was one of the best decisions we made for our Phu Quoc trip. Thank you, Joanna, for making our family holiday so smooth, stress-free and memorable. ❤️

We thoroughly enjoyed all of our stays in Vietnam. Q Boutique was exceptionally clean, the service was excellent, and they offered a delicious breakfast with good vegetarian options. Our stay in Da Nang was equally enjoyable, with a great room and an excellent breakfast. Happy Life Grand Hotel Suit
e was comfortable after the room upgrade. However, the triple-sharing room could be improved, as its setup did not feel comparable to the Deluxe Twin room. It would be great if the triple-sharing option could have better arrangements to provide a more comfortable experience. All of our transfers and tours were well-organized and always on time. Every driver and guide we met was kind, professional, and very helpful throughout the trip. A special thank you to tracy for going above and beyond when we needed assistance with a hospital visit. Your generosity, kindness, and support were truly appreciated and made a stressful situation much easier for us. Bana hills, lantern town, chu chi tunnel, hanoi city tour

Recently we booked Vietnam - Phu Quoc Trip through Asia Luxury Travels and Ms. Joanna was the POC for the travel guidance and end to end planning and execution and she has done really great job in our trip planning, answering our impromptu questions at any time of the day and also arranged all the t
hings as per the plan. Only drawback which I faced in the entire trip was, we need to fill the VDAC when we enter Vietnam and this was not communicated to us earlier and due to which I need to wait in the long queue for clarifications with the Airport team and fill the form and get through the immigration, else all other things really went well. Also another improvement area which i need to give to travel agency is, please provide the tickets / cakes (in our case, my son's birthday Cake) on-time without we following up with the agency. Thanks again to Asia Luxury travels for arranging such a nice trip for our entire family.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience traveling to Vietnam from 20th to 30th May 2026. The entire trip was very well organized, smooth, and hassle-free from start to finish. All arrangements including hotels, transfers, sightseeing, and local support were handled perfectly. The itinerary was we
ll balanced – covering beautiful destinations, cultural experiences, and enough leisure time to enjoy at our own pace. A special mention to the coordination team gracie and lacie from the local tean for being quick responsive and supportive throughout the journey. Everything ran on time, and we never had to worry about logistics, which made the trip truly relaxing. Vietnam itself was breathtaking – from vibrant cities to scenic landscapes most important food , this is the only problem for pure vegan people like me, rest all the things every moment was memorable. Highly recommended for anyone planning a stress-free and well-managed international trip. Looking forward to planning the next journey with the same team again.

FAQs About Vietnam Tour Packages

A Vietnam tour package from Chennai starts at Rs 19,920 per person for 3 nights land only, and Rs 62,899 per person for the 4N/5D Hanoi and Ha Long trip with return flights from Chennai. Most travellers spend Rs 55,000 to Rs 80,000 per person on a 5 to 6 day trip with flights, hotels, sightseeing and a Ha Long Bay cruise. Add US$25 for the e-visa.

Is there a direct flight from Chennai to Vietnam?

No. There is no non-stop flight from Chennai to Vietnam. Most travellers fly one-stop via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Colombo, which takes about 7 to 11 hours including the layover. The other option is a short flight to Bengaluru and an overnight non-stop to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, which runs every night of the week between VietJet and Vietnam Airlines.

Which is the cheapest way to fly from Chennai to Vietnam?

A one-stop flight via Singapore on Scoot or via Kuala Lumpur on AirAsia is usually cheapest, with one-way fares from about Rs 12,600 into Ho Chi Minh City and Rs 14,000 into Hanoi. February and April are the cheapest months. November and December cost the most. The Bengaluru route can work out cheaper when the Bengaluru non-stop has a sale.

How long is the flight from Chennai to Vietnam?

Plan on 7 to 11 hours from Chennai to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, including one layover. The flying time itself is about 5 and a half to 7 hours. The connection in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok makes up the rest, so a short layover keeps the journey close to 7 hours.

How many days are enough for a Vietnam trip from Chennai?

Five to six days cover Hanoi and an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise. Seven to eight days let you add Da Nang and Hoi An or Ho Chi Minh City. Nine to ten days are right for north to south or a Phu Quoc beach finish. Keep in mind the one-stop flight takes about half a day each way.

What is very famous in Vietnam?

Vietnam is a prominent destination that offers the richness of its diverse culture, delectable cuisines, and pristine beaches.

Are flights included in Vietnam packages from Chennai?

On cards marked "Flights from Chennai", yes. The Charming Vietnam 4N/5D package includes return flights from Chennai at Rs 62,899 per person. Yes. Indian passport holders need an e-visa, applied for online before travel. It costs US$25 for single entry or US$50 for multiple entry, allows a stay of up to 90 days and usually takes about 3 working days. Your passport must be valid for six months. Phu Quoc allows 30 days visa-free on an international arrival there, including an airside transit connection, but most connections via Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi change terminals and need the e-visa.

What is the best time to visit Vietnam?

The best time to visit Vietnam from Chennai is November to April, when the north is cool and dry and the south is sunny. Da Nang and Hoi An are best from February to August. Pongal week and the Christmas holidays suit Hanoi and Ha Long, while the April to May school holidays suit the central coast. Avoid Tet week (6 February 2027).

Is Vietnam good for a honeymoon from Chennai?

Yes. A night on a Ha Long Bay cruise, a lantern boat in Hoi An and a Phu Quoc sunset make Vietnam one of the best value honeymoons from Chennai. The 3N/4D Hanoi honeymoon starts at Rs 19,920 per person and the 5N/6D Hanoi, Ha Long and Saigon honeymoon at Rs 30,000, both land only and both customisable.

Is vegetarian food easily available in Vietnam?
