It houses two ancient temples, Bhoga Narasimha Temple, at the foot of the hill, and Yoga Narasimha Temple, a bit higher. Three holy ponds, Narasimha Teertha, Pada Teertha, and Parashara Teertha, reside near the temple complex. The holy water was called ‘Siddaganga,’ hence the derivation of matha’s name. As per beliefs, holy water has the power to heal mental and physical ailments. It is considered one of the famous places to visit in Tumkur. Many people come here from far-off places due to the beliefs it holds.
4. Namada Chilume
What’s Special: Religious significance
Timings: 9 am to 5:30 pm

A place of historical significance, Namada Chilume, has a small streak of flowing water from a circular hole. As per beliefs, during exile, Lord Rama wanted to apply Tilak (Nama) on his forehead but couldn’t find water. So, he aimed an arrow at a rock, from which water emerged. Hence, the place got its name, ‘Namada Chilume,’ meaning ‘spring of Tilaka.’ The water has not dried up since that time. A foot impression near the spring is said to be that of Lord Rama. Surrounding the spring is a Deer Park and a Medical Plants Nursery.
5. Madhugiri Fort

Built by the Vijayanagara Empire, Madhugiri Fort is famous for its architecture. ‘Madhu’ means ‘honey,’ and ‘Giri’ means ‘hill.’ Settled on the steep slope of a hill, adventurous souls can trek their way upto Madhugiri Fort in the Tumkur Vacation Packages.
