About Payyoli in Kozhikode

A small municipality town in Kozhikode district of Kerala, Payyoli is a gem of a place sitting cozily on the Malabar coast of India in the state of Kerala.

The town gained popularity when one of its residents became the national athlete and made her country proud. This athlete is P.T Usha. Because of her belonging to this town, she was given the title of being the Payyoli Express. There are many places that one can see here. The Payyoli beach, theatre, the lighthouse, and many other sightseeing spots lend the town a different and distinct identity.

Other places of interest include the like of Kolavi Palam Beach that has a long stretch of golden sands and shallow waters. The place is great for swimming and hence is an ideal spot for picnics with family and friends. Head to the beaches of Payyoli for beautiful sunsets. The interesting thing about the beaches here is that a few of them experience the coming of Olive Ridley turtles during the months of November and December. These turtles come to Payyoli Beach Kerala to lay eggs. A nature conservation center was opened nearby by the local fishermen community to save these turtles.

Hotel could have been better in thekkady. Though a very good hotel but we were given smallest room as they had full occupancy. It was extremely suffocting because we were with our child. The room had no window. We requested for room change and next day we got much better room. However for an entire day we had to survive in that small room though we paid full. Hence wud not recommend that hotel Elephant ride and elephant rain in thekkady. Also loved allepey hotel
