The waterfalls of Athirappilly are often known as Niagara Falls of India which fall from a height of 80 feet and are 330 feet wide. These falls are majestic in size and are considered to be the largest in Kerala. The waterfall is settled in the dense forest of Vazhachal. The forest surrounding Athitapally falls is one of the best biodiversity spots in the country. It is a paradise for nature lovers as one sees a wide variety of flora and fauna. Vazhachal Falls

The source of Vazhachal Falls is Chalakudy River, the falls stream down from Shoylayar range. These waterfalls are one of the finest places to visit in Kerala. The Chalakudy River in Kerala is the fourth-longest river in Kerala. There are no airports in Athirapally, or even very close to it, so for those wondering how to reach Athirapally by flight, the best thing to do is to take a flight to Kochi International Airport, from where a taxi can easily take you to Athirapally. Kochi is a mere 55 kms away from Athirapally. You can also board a state run or private bus service to take you to Chalakudy from Kochi.

By Train

There isn’t any railway station in Athirapally as well, so travelers looking to travel here via train would have to deboard at Chalakudy, which is the nearest railway station to Athirapally. The Athirapally waterfalls is a mere 25 kms away from Chalakudy. From here taxis and other shared local transport are easily available to take you to the Athirapally waterfalls.

By Road

Just concentrate on hotels food Ragamaya 1st hotel was one of the hidden gem. 2Hotels which I went on the 2nd & 3rd day makes us disappointed.       Hi Team, As you this wasn't my 1st trip with you guys. Though booking was hassle free was surprised to after service, moreover your App was so pathetic which I had complained also, inspite of install & uninstall multiple times , I had login and due payment issues. No transparency on cost due to w
      hich I eventually paid on higher payment instead of what it was promised to be, refund for the same pending. Had mixed opinion on overall journey 1) Driver Nice and very friendly guy and always promot on his duty, full 5star for him. 2) Hotel - Lake View munnar * Property was good with view point and staffs etc. But drawbacks were , It's 3 Star hotel rather 4 star. I had face Hot water issue for all days, Team used to attend complaint but didn't get resolved . Food for one night was so bad and it lacks with other amenities to be called a 4Star. 3) Boat house It was fantastic, nice crew team, Good food & Hospitality. It didn't had hot water facilities As I was carrying my infant , but overall it was a happy stay. 4) Support from Travel agent / Travel triangle representative Totally below par to my expectations, As eveytime I need to do too many follow ups, Still I didn't get my refund amount on excess money paid. House boat stay and Villa Property of hotel.

      Our travel agent was good but I had a heart breaking experience as the vehicle at the airport pickup was not what was asked for so I had to arrange one myself with additional waste of time in acquiring it and paying extra for the same. After reaching the hotel I had to let the vehicle go and was wit
      hout one till late next morning. Fortunately the agent arranged for the appropriate vehicle and I could save the trip. I have not be reimbursed for the extra expenses even after sharing all payment details. So in a way yes I was extremely dejected till all became well. I still am as I have not been reimbursed The place and sightseeing was wonderful

      We had a great trip to Kerala. The hotels had been booked properly. The hotels were nice in general. The Kochi hotel could do with some minor but very important maintenance. Gave us the feeling that it is mostly unoccupied. Alleppy UDS was really nice. UDS hotels in Trivandrum and Kovlam were als
      o nice even though the Kovlam hotel rooms were of lower than expected category. Buying the entrance tickets for most places were a somewhat painful experience because of long queues despite paying high or fast queue prices. 4 hour Houseboat experience in Alleppy was a bit disappointing . It was probably much better than a full day houseboat experience. I believe a Shikara boat for a few hours could have been a better experience. The Travel agent did not book the Pariyar Tiger Reserve tickets for boat ride in advance as per the deal. Finally we decided to give it a miss. The agent did however offer us the refund of the cost for that. Munnar gave us a real hill station feeling. The Aranyaka resort was very nice. Our room had great views. We could have spent some more days there.
