History of Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary
The Kadalundi river flows through this sanctuary. Therefore, the sanctuary is also named after it. The river passes through the sanctuary along with the Silent Valley and Malappuram and finally pours to the mighty Arabian Sea. A total of 60 species of migratory birds are noted to flock at this sanctuary throughout the year. Even though the sanctuary is almost always flocked with birds, the duration between the months of November and April is considered ideal for spotting them.
