Vijay Stambh in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan

The tower is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and has beautiful carvings and sculptures of many Hindu Goddesses and Gods. In the interior one can find carvings of musical instruments, weapons, and many other tools that were used in the 14th century. Other important aspects of the architecture of Vijay Stambh are that on the 9th floor one can find an image of Padmavati, the Jain Goddess. On the third and eighth floor, one can find the name, Allah carved in Arabic around nine times. The tower is also a symbol of how religious diversity existed peacefully in India even in those times. History of Vijay Stambh in Chittorgarh

Vijay Stambh is a sign of victory that was built by the King of Mewar to mark the victory over Mahmud Khilji in 1448. The huge and mighty tower took many years for the construction, it started in 1448 and was ready in 1488. The massive pillar is visible from far away city.

In the topmost storey of Vijay Stambh, you will see genealogy of rulers and their bravery stories. These intricate carvings were done by Rana Kumbha. On the fifth floor, the name of the architecture is carved.
