Thailand Solo Trip Packages

Thailand Solo Trip Packages: rated 4.4/5 (based on 4930 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹15,000/-

Solo Thailand at a glance

A Thailand solo trip is one of the easiest first solo trips you can take from India, and TravelTriangle runs 29 customisable solo tour packages that start at Rs 15,000 per person. Each one is built for someone travelling alone, so the flights, hotels, airport pickups and day tours are arranged before you land.
First-timer or on your fifth trip, you pick the cities, we handle the logistics, and a local team stays reachable through the trip. The packages cover Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai, plus the southern islands, and every itinerary can be reshaped around your dates, budget and pace. For the full country guide, see our Thailand travel guide; for all departures see Thailand tour packages.

Why Choose Thailand for a Solo Trip

Thailand is popular with solo travellers because it is safe, cheap and simple to move around. You can pair beaches, temple cities, jungle and street food in one two-week loop, and the traveller trail is so well worn that you are rarely the only person eating alone or catching a ferry alone.

  • Friendly, used-to-tourists culture. Thai hospitality is genuine and locals are patient with first-timers.
  • Cheap, frequent transport. Cities are linked by buses, trains, budget flights and ferries, so you are never stuck.
  • A bed for every budget. Social hostels from a few hundred rupees a night up to private beach resorts.
  • Works for men and women travelling alone, with sensible precautions (see safety below).

Is Thailand safe for solo female travellers? Yes. Thailand is one of the more comfortable countries in Asia for women travelling alone, and thousands do it every month. Stick to the same habits you would anywhere: skip empty streets late at night, cover shoulders and knees at temples, keep a hotel card and local emergency numbers on your phone, and favour registered Grab taxis over flagged-down ones.

Types of Thailand Solo Tour Packages

TravelTriangle runs solo Thailand packages across five broad styles so you can match the trip to your budget and how social you want to be.

  • Budget solo packages for travellers who want Thailand without spending much.
  • Premium and comfort solo packages with private stays and guided days.
  • Short 3-5 day city breaks around Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket.
  • Long 7-10 day itineraries for a deeper multi-city and island loop.
  • Fully customisable packages where you choose the cities, activities and travel style.

Popular Destinations Covered in Solo Thailand Tours

Thailand packs a lot into short hops. These five bases cover most solo itineraries, and each suits a different mood.

Bangkok

The capital is the arrival point for almost every solo trip and a culture-and-food hub in its own right. See the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun for Thai architecture, eat your way through the street stalls (Pad Thai, boat noodles, mango sticky rice), and shop Chatuchak Weekend Market, MBK or Siam. Khao San Road is the backpacker social hub if you want to meet other solo travellers on night one.

Pattaya

A two-hour drive from Bangkok, Pattaya is the easy beach add-on for a short solo trip. Relax at Jomtien Beach, take the boat to Coral Island for snorkelling, and see Nong Nooch Tropical Garden or the Sanctuary of Truth. Walking Street handles the after-dark entertainment.

Phuket

Thailand's largest island is the base for beach life and island hopping. Stay near Patong for the buzz or a quieter beach for calm, and day-trip to the Phi Phi Islands and Maya Bay. Scuba, snorkelling and longtail-boat tours are all easy to book solo.

Krabi

Krabi is the slower, nature-first choice. Railay Beach, Ao Nang and Phra Nang Cave Beach are the highlights, reached by longtail boat, and yoga retreats and sea kayaking make it a calm spot to travel alone.

Chiang Mai

Up north, Chiang Mai is the culture-and-slow-travel base. Visit Wat Phra Singh and Doi Suthep, browse the Night Bazaar and Sunday Walking Street, and fill days with cooking classes, meditation and ethical elephant sanctuaries rather than beaches.

The Full Moon Party and Solo Backpacker Island Circuit

If you are travelling solo to meet people, the Gulf islands are where Thailand's backpacker scene lives, and most solo travellers link all three in one loop.

  • Koh Phangan hosts the Full Moon Party once a month on Haad Rin beach, the single biggest solo-backpacker night in Thailand. Book a bed a few days ahead around the full-moon date.
  • Koh Tao is where you get scuba certified for less than almost anywhere in the world, an Open Water course runs around Rs 18,000-22,000, and the dive-school hostels are naturally social.
  • Koh Samui is the comfortable gateway island with the airport and ferry links, good if you want one calmer stop between the party and the diving.

We can theme a solo package to this circuit (Koh Samui in, Koh Phangan for the party, Koh Tao to dive) with the ferry legs pre-booked so you are not sorting boats alone.

Top Solo Experiences to Add to Your Trip

These are the experiences solo travellers rate highest, and all of them are easy to join alone because you end up with a group.

  • A Muay Thai class or a ringside night at Rajadamnern (Bangkok) or a Chiang Mai stadium.
  • A half-day Thai cooking class, you shop the market, cook four dishes, and eat with the group.
  • An ethical elephant sanctuary near Chiang Mai where you feed and bathe rather than ride the elephants.
  • A street-food night-market crawl, the lowest-pressure way to eat well and talk to other travellers.

Sample Thailand Solo Trip Durations

Solo packages come in different lengths to suit your leave and your budget. Every plan below is a starting point you can reshape.

4 to 5 Days Solo Thailand Itineraries

Focus on Bangkok with Pattaya, or Bangkok with Phuket. Do Bangkok's temples, markets and street food, then relax on a beach and add a short tour or a night out.

6 to 7 Days Thailand Solo Travel Plans

Cover Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, or pair Bangkok with Chiang Mai. Mix cultural landmarks and shopping with beach or island time, or swap the coast for slow travel in the north.

Extended Solo Holidays (8-10 Days or More)

Combine several cities and islands, for example Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai. You travel at a relaxed pace with more beach time and cultural stops, and it is the best format for the island circuit above.

7 Days Thailand Solo Trip Package Price: What to Expect

The price of a 7-day solo Thailand trip depends on the cities you visit, the hotel tier you pick and the season. As a benchmark a 7-day solo package runs around Rs 45,000-75,000 per person, and TravelTriangle keeps pricing transparent so there are no surprises. For the full range of non-solo departures and durations, see all thailand tour packages.

Factors Affecting Pricing

  • Hotels: hostels and 3-star stays are cheapest; 4-star and resorts cost more.
  • Flights and transfers: domestic hops (Bangkok-Phuket-Chiang Mai) add to the total; airport and local transfers are usually included.
  • Sightseeing and activities: guided tours, island hopping and adventure add-ons raise the price.
  • Meals and extras: some packages include breakfast or half-board; extra meals and optional experiences add cost.

Seasonal Price Variations

  • Peak (November to February): cool, dry, and the most expensive because demand peaks.
  • Shoulder (March to May): hot, with slightly lower hotel and tour prices and good deals.
  • Off-season (June to October): the rainy months carry the lowest prices, ideal if you are budget-first and flexible on outdoor days.

City Combinations and Cost Differences

  • Bangkok + Phuket runs a little higher because of the domestic flight and Phuket's island tours.
  • Bangkok + Chiang Mai is usually the most affordable pairing, with cheaper stays and economical flights or trains.
  • Bangkok + Pattaya + Phuket costs more thanks to the extra transfers and nights.

Cheapest Thailand Solo Packages

Travelling alone on a tight budget still works well in Thailand. Our budget solo packages pair affordable stays, shared transfers and included sightseeing so the trip stays cheap without feeling bare.

Budget Accommodation Options

  • Hostels: the most economical choice, with dorms or cheap private rooms and common areas where you meet other travellers.
  • Guesthouses: small family-run places with comfortable rooms, a personal feel and good local tips.
  • 2-3 star hotels: clean rooms and basic amenities, sometimes breakfast, still far cheaper than resorts.

Shared Transfers and Group Tours

  • Shared transfers instead of private taxis cut airport and city transfer costs.
  • Small-group day tours for city sightseeing and island hopping save money and are where solo travellers meet people.
  • Local buses, trains and tuk-tuks are safe, cheap and easy in most Thai cities.

Best-Value Cities for Solo Travellers

Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Pattaya stretch a budget furthest, with cheap hostels, street food and low-cost or free sights. Phuket and Krabi cost a bit more because of higher room rates and island tours. Pick the cheaper bases and use shared transfers and you get a full Thailand trip without overspending.

Solo Trip to Thailand Cost: Budget Breakdown

Here is what a solo traveller from India actually spends day to day. Knowing the Thailand solo trip cost up front makes it easy to pick the right package tier.

Per-person solo costs.

Expense Typical cost (Rs) Note
Return flights from India 8,000-20,000 Cheaper if booked early / off-season
Budget hotel or hostel 800-1,500 / night Basic, clean, sometimes breakfast
Mid-range hotel 2,000-4,000 / night Comfortable private room
Premium hotel / resort 4,000+ / night Pool, spa, added services
Street-food meal 150-300 Tasty, safe, budget-friendly
Restaurant meal 500+ Depends on the place
Temple / attraction entry 200-500 Per site
Guided tour / island trip 1,000-2,000 Per activity

A realistic on-ground daily budget is about Rs 5,000-7,000 per person once flights are booked. TravelTriangle packages roll accommodation, transfers and sightseeing into one price, which makes the total easy to plan.

Safety and Comfort for Solo Travellers in Thailand

Thailand is generally safe for solo travellers, and a few habits keep it that way.

  • General safety: avoid secluded spots after dark, keep valuables secure and stay alert in crowds and at busy transport hubs.
  • Solo female travellers: dress modestly at temples, avoid walking alone late at night, and use registered Grab or hotel-arranged transport.
  • Local laws and etiquette: respect temple dress codes, skip public displays of affection and follow local rules (vaping is restricted).
  • Emergency support: dial 1155 for the Tourist Police; Thailand has good hospitals and 24x7 emergency numbers, and our team stays reachable through your trip.

Solo but Never Alone: Join a Group Departure

Booking a solo package does not mean travelling in silence. If you want company, we run fixed-date group departures for solo travellers, so you fly out alone but share the trip with a small group of other solos, guide included. It is the easiest way to meet people if it is your first solo trip and the safest way to do the islands and the Full Moon Party. Prefer your own space? Keep a private package and add only the group day tours you fancy. Either way you are travelling with strangers who quickly stop being strangers.

Food for Indian Solo Travellers (Veg and Halal)

Eating well is easy, even if you are vegetarian, Jain or prefer halal. Look for the yellow-and-red 'jay' (??) sign, Thailand's own vegetarian marker, which means no meat, egg or pungent vegetables. Bangkok has full Indian and vegetarian restaurants around Sukhumvit and the Phahurat (Little India) area, and most tourist restaurants in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai run clear veg menus. Halal food is widely available in the south and around Bangkok's Muslim quarters. Tell us your food needs and we note them on every booking.

Customisation Options for Solo Thailand Trips

Every solo package is fully customisable.

  • Flexible dates and durations: choose when you go and for how long.
  • Choice of cities and experiences: mix Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai and the islands.
  • Add group activities: bolt on cooking classes, city tours or adventure days whenever you want company.

Best Time to Visit Thailand for Solo Travellers

Weather, crowds and prices swing through the year, so the season shapes the trip. Full month-by-month detail is on our Thailand travel guide.

  • Peak (November to February): coolest, driest and best for beaches and sightseeing, but busier and pricier.
  • Shoulder (March to May): hot, quieter and cheaper, good for deals if you can handle the heat.
  • Off-season (June to October): green, wet and cheapest; showers are usually short, and the islands stay doable.

Booking and Travel Essentials

Thailand Entry for Indians in 2026: Visa-Free and TDAC

Indian passport holders get 60-day visa-free entry to Thailand, so no visa run to a consulate before a normal holiday. Everyone flying in must also complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival, it is free and replaces the old paper form. Carry proof of onward travel and hotel details in case immigration asks. Do the TDAC before you fly and airport arrival is quick.

Documents Needed for Solo Travel

  • Passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages.
  • Confirmed return or onward ticket and hotel bookings (we provide these with your package).
  • Completed TDAC and, ideally, travel insurance details.

Why Travel Insurance Is Worth It

For a solo trip, insurance is not optional in spirit. It covers medical treatment, lost bags and cancellations, which matters more when no travel companion can cover for you. We can add it to any package.

Why Book Your Solo Thailand Trip with TravelTriangle

On a solo trip the operator behind you matters more than usual. Here is what you get.

  • A verified network of Thailand travel agents, not an anonymous booking form.
  • Genuine customisation: change any city, day or hotel before you pay.
  • Verified reviews from real travellers who booked and travelled (see below).
  • Transparent pricing and a price you can plan against, from Rs 15,000.
  • 24x7 support you can actually reach while you are on the ground.

“Land in Bangkok, finish your TDAC online before you fly, and take the early Koh Phangan ferry over the late one in the wet season, fewer cancellations.”

Fares and entry rules on this page are checked by our Thailand travel desk against live operator and immigration sources. Reviewed by the TravelTriangle Thailand travel desk.

How to Choose the Right Solo Package

Four quick lenses to self-select, then browse the live packages below.

  • By purpose: want to meet people, choose a Full-Moon island circuit or a singles group departure; want calm, choose Krabi or Chiang Mai.
  • By budget: from Rs 15,000 for a budget city break, to premium 4-star solo trips; see the comparison table above.
  • By duration: 4-5 days does one or two cities, 6-7 days adds the coast, 8-10 days does the full island loop.
  • By season: November to February for beaches, off-season for the lowest prices. Detail on the Thailand travel guide.

What to Pack for Solo Thailand

Peak season is warm and humid; the off-season adds short heavy showers. Pack light and quick-dry.

  • Reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for the islands.
  • Quick-dry clothing and swimwear, plus one set of shoulder-and-knee-covering clothes for temples.
  • A power bank and an offline maps app; island network can be patchy.
  • Some cash for ferry, tuk-tuk and small-vendor payments, plus your passport and TDAC confirmation.

Conclusion

A solo trip to Thailand is safe, affordable and genuinely easy to organise, whether you want beaches, backpacker nights or quiet temple towns. With 29 customisable packages from Rs 15,000, fixed-date group departures and a team on call, you can travel alone without doing it all alone. Browse the live solo packages below and reshape any one around your dates.

Naveen's 14 days trip to Thailand

Overall, we had a very good experience with our travel agent. The trip was planned well, all commitments were fulfilled as promised, and the coordination throughout the journey was smooth. The team was responsive, professional, and ensured that transfers, sightseeing, and bookings were arranged prop
erly, making the trip hassle-free. The only major disappointment was the hotel selected in Pattaya. The rooms were quite compact, we encountered cockroaches in the room, and the towels provided were not up to the expected standard. This part of the experience could have been much better. The itinerary was well designed overall; however, for some outdoor attractions, scheduling visits during the evening would have been preferable, especially during the summer season, to avoid the intense daytime heat and make sightseeing more comfortable. Despite these points, we appreciate the effort and support provided by the travel agent. The trip was enjoyable, and with a little more attention to hotel selection and timing of certain activities, the experience could have been excellent.

I recently completed my Thailand trip with Travelopedia, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. made the trip completely stress-free for us.

Vrushabh's 7 days trip to Thailand

We recently booked an 11-day, 10-night land package to Thailand with Travtree Holidays, covering Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi. Traveling with a 2-year-old can be challenging, but the overall experience was smooth and well-coordinated. Our itinerary was packed with great activities. In Bangkok, Safa
ri World was a huge hit with our little one, and the temple tours were beautiful. The Krabi leg was fantastic—the 7 Island Tour and the Jungle Tour were standouts. In Phuket, the Phi Phi Island tour and the Old City tour were both well-managed and enjoyable. Since we only opted for the land package and airport transfers, we relied heavily on their punctuality. The transfers were seamless, which is a massive relief when you’re hauling luggage and a toddler! The only disappointment was the Elephant Sanctuary tour. It felt very rushed, lasting only about an hour and a half, which didn't quite meet our expectations compared to the quality of the other excursions. Overall, we had a wonderful family holiday. Travtree Holidays provided great service and reliable transport. Highly recommended for families looking for a well-organized Thailand experience!

Lizandra's 5 days trip to Thailand

We recently booked our family trip to Thailand with Travtree Holidays, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The entire itinerary was very well organized, making the trip smooth and stress-free—especially important when traveling with young children (our ki
ds are 2 and 5 years old). All pick-ups were perfectly on time, and the vehicles provided were clean, comfortable, and spacious, which made commuting easy and relaxing for the whole family. The hotels arranged for us were excellent—family-friendly, comfortable, and conveniently located. Everything was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy each destination without any hassle. A special mention goes to our visits to Siam Ocean World (sea life) and Safari World & Marine Park. Both experiences were incredibly impressive and became the highlight of our trip. Siam Water World was fantastic for the kids, with exciting views of the sea creatures penguins etc that they thoroughly enjoyed. Safari World was equally amazing—the safari drive and shows were captivating, and seeing the animals up close was a memorable experience for both adults and children. Overall, Travtree Holidays ensured a seamless, enjoyable, and perfectly managed vacation for our family. We truly appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Thailand—especially families traveling with young kids.

A budget solo package starts at Rs 15,000 per person, and a typical 7-day solo trip costs about Rs 45,000 to Rs 75,000, depending on the cities, hotel tier, and season. On the ground, plan roughly Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 per day once flights (Rs 8,000 to Rs 20,000 return) are booked. Cheaper cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai stretch the budget the furthest.

How do I meet other travellers on a solo Thailand trip?

Easiest routes: book a fixed-date group departure and travel with a small group of other solos; stay in social hostels (Khao San Road in Bangkok, dive hostels on Koh Tao); join small-group day tours and cooking classes; and time Koh Phangan for the monthly Full Moon Party. You fly out alone but rarely stay alone.

Is Thailand safe for solo female travellers from India?

Thailand is one of Asia's more comfortable countries for women travelling alone, and thousands do it monthly. Take normal precautions: avoid empty streets late at night, dress modestly at temples, use registered Grab or hotel transport, and keep emergency numbers handy (Tourist Police 1155). Our fixed-date group departures add extra company and safety.

Do Indians need a visa for Thailand, and what is the TDAC?

Indian passport holders currently get 30-day visa-free entry, so they do not need a consulate visa for a normal holiday. Everyone must also complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival. It replaces the old paper form. Carry an onward ticket and hotel booking confirmation.

Which destinations in Thailand are best for solo travel?

Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi and Chiang Mai are the core solo bases, and the Gulf islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) are the backpacker circuit. Bangkok and the islands are best for meeting people; Krabi and Chiang Mai suit calmer, slower solo trips.

Which places are best for a first-time solo traveller?

Start with Bangkok plus one beach (Pattaya or Phuket) on a 4-5 day trip. Bangkok is easy to navigate and full of other travellers, and a short beach add-on keeps the logistics simple. Add the islands or Chiang Mai once you have your feet.

What common mistakes should I avoid on a first solo Thailand trip?

Over-packing the itinerary (Thai transfers eat time), skipping the TDAC before flying, carrying too little cash for ferries and small vendors, booking Full Moon Party beds too late, and ignoring temple dress codes. Building in buffer days and pre-booked transfers fixes most of these.

Which is the cheapest Thailand package for solo travellers?

Budget packages to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or Pattaya using hostels and shared transfers are the cheapest, starting at Rs 15,000 per person. Travelling during the off-season (June to October) can reduce hotel and tour prices further.

What is included in a solo Thailand trip package?

Packages usually include hotels, airport and local transfers, guided sightseeing, selected activities and expert travel support. Flights and meals may be included depending on the tier, and everything is customisable before you pay.

What is the 7-day Thailand solo package price?

It typically ranges from Rs 45,000 to Rs 75,000 per person. Bangkok with Chiang Mai is usually the cheapest pairing, while multi-city and island trips cost more.

Is diving in Koh Tao safe for solo travellers?

Yes. Koh Tao is one of the world's most popular and best-supervised places to learn scuba diving, with certified instructors and small class sizes. An Open Water course typically costs around 9,900 to 12,000 THB.

Can solo travellers customise their Thailand itinerary?

Yes. TravelTriangle lets you change the dates, cities, hotels and activities on any solo package before booking, so the trip fits your budget and pace exactly.
