About Bryant Park in Kodaikanal
Located on the eastern side of Kodaikanal Lake, Bryant Park is a botanical estate that presents a riot of colors. Covering an area of almost 20 acres, this lovely park boats of more than 325 species of trees, cacti, and shrubs. When its flowers are in full blossom, the park seems to be a rainbow. Named after the forest officer of Madurai, Mr. H.D. Bryant and existing since 1908, the botanical park is known for its fauna, hybrids, and rafts.
Bryant Park in Kodaikanal has a section, especially dedicated to roses, where approximately 740 of its varieties bloom. The park houses a eucalyptus tree that dates back to 1857 and is one of the major attractions here. In addition, a Bodhi tree enhances the serenity of the area, magnetizing people with religious inclination. What makes this garden, a must-visit place is its glasshouse that holds a rich collection of ferns, flowers, as well as various more ornamental plants.
