There are no airports in Rameshwaram. In fact, the nearest airport to the Rameshwaram temple is in Madurai, from where the town center is almost 170 kms away. This journey can be completed via local buses, private taxis, self-driven vehicles or trains. For those traveling from far-off destinations to Rameshwaram, taking a flight to Madurai is the best option, in order to save time. Also, for visa formalities, the distance between Rameshwaram and Sri Lanka is best covered by a flight. On landing at Madurai airport, one can transfer to Rameshwaram via train or road. Sadly, the answer to the question of how to reach Rameshwaram by flight is that it is impossible, not until an airport is built here.
For those wondering how to reach Rameshwaram by train, there are a plethora of trains that bring people to this temple town. Although there is a shortage of direct trains to Rameshwaram from most cities across India, it is very well connected to cities within the southern states of India. For instance, the distance between Chennai and Rameshwaram is best covered by a train. Rameshwaram Express is one of the most popular trains among pilgrims and other tourists. The Rameshwaram express route is one of the shortest journeys one can hope to undertake from Chennai to get here.
If planning to travel from Ooty to Rameshwaram, road transfer is the best option. The distance between Madurai and Rameshwaram is also best covered by road. There are several private and government run buses available from Madurai that bring people to this temple town. The distance between Kanyakumari and Rameshwaram is best covered by a road journey, be it a hired mode of transportation or a self-driven vehicle.

Vijay's 10 days trip to KeralaWe have mixed experience as far as hotels are concerned. Hotel Pine Tree staff behavior was excellent, they even provided extra bed without any additional cost, food and tea were also of very good quality but their beds were too soft and spongy to be comfortable. Hotel Season Thekkady at Thekkady was comfortable but their food (breakfast) was not good. Houseboat at Alleppy was nice, however there was some cleanliness issue. Children enjoyed the stay at Houseboat. Location of Hotel God's Own Villa at Kovalam was good, however earlier informed hotel was better located. Hotel was good at Kovlam but their food was of substandard quality. Hotel Sea View at Kanyakumari was very good. It's location was perfect. The best hotel in the whole trip we got was at Rameshwaram. Star Palace hotel was perfect and their staff behavior was excellent. They also tried and provided us two suits and one double bed room instead of three double bedrooms without asking for any additional charges. Location of Hotel Lotus at Madurai was also great. Breakfast was also of very good quality though they have no restaurant of their own and arrange it in collaboration of a restaurant situated just in front. As far as vehicle is concerned, it was comfortable but it was not in accordance of what was quoted in the quotation prior and after booking. In place of 9 seater AC Luxry Tempo Traveller we were provided with a 12 seater AC Tempo traveller. Vehicle was also not in best of the condition. But the drniver Mr. Vijay Krishna was excellent. He was very polite, honest, soft spoken, reliable and possess excellent driving capability. We shall always remember him.
Mp's 5 days trip to Tamil NaduTrip was good overall and as planned. Vehicle and Driver are very good and is a plesant journey throughout. The hotel rooms at Madurai and Srirangam are very nice but the rooms at Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari are not upto the mark.
Nidhi's 7 days trip to KeralaAll trip was going fine until we reach Kovalam where the resort [although it was not ] was totally disappointing as the pathway to reach it was very dangerous. There was just 1 foot road for around 500m to travel where there was one big drain on right side. I wont recommend u to book that hotel in future for the trips having kids and elder people. Next when we reach Rameshwaram there was issue with booking dates, they had booking for next day for us which was not correct and we have to adjust in 2 rooms for the time being. Best memories we created in Kerala, nice weather, beautiful locations, lots of spices shopping and yes very cooperative driver bhaiya sumesh
Maniyan's 4 days trip to Tamil NaduI would like to thank to Mr.Rakesh. He done a good arrangement for my 5D4N trip Rameswaram-Madurai-Tiruchy. He understood my needs and he has arranged my solo trip to Rameshwaram-Madurai-Tiruchy as per my customized itinerary. The driver (Mr. Madhu) was very humble and safely picked and dropped me to each and every places accordingly. Overall it was a hassel free package and I really enjoyed the trip.
Bhawna's 5 days trip to Tamil NaduPlaces of our trip Trivandrum-Kovalam-kanyakumari-Rameshwaram -Madurai..During our trip hotels of some places are good bt some places are not good..our cab driver Mr.Augustin was good guy..they helped us to cover our all sightscene and make our memorable trip.. Awsum trip of kanyakumari
Lisharma's 5 days trip to Tamil NaduNo testimonial to be given .. My last day AUgust 17th i had to spend whole 8 hrs at airport becasue the oversmart driver brought me to madhurai way to early from Rameshwaram without doing 3 site seeing places.... so on 17th august i only had a local temple to see and then nothing else to do before my flight. so i had to spend 8 hrs in airport. I requested the driver to take me around some local shops to do some shopping , he turned a dead ear. the entire trip was spoil by that last day. Madhurai was the home for the driver and that is why he hurried and brought us there. If i have to spend time arguing with driver on a vacation then how can i relax in vacation Honestly , the driver cant just do their way of sight seeing .. whatever was mentioned and promised in rameshwaram was not fully delivered. I am sooo unhappy cause i had checked with the customize.com lady and she suggested i book late evening flight so either plz improve the professionalism of drivers or else its not so much fun that i keep arguing with a driver who does not want to understand you
Anil Kumar Mishra
Anil's 6 days trip to Tamil NaduI have visited two times earlier with travel triangle, and my experience was excellent and we enjoyed our tour. Now come to my latest visit to Tamilnadu with Miles 2 Fly and I am very much disappointed. Start with Rameshwaram , we reached railway station but pick up was not available at station, driver said that your train arrived before time so I'm not at station. Any how we managed to reach at hotel , hotel Rameshwaram Grande is nice hotel. Next day morning Miles 2 Fly called us frequently until balance payment made. Now come to Kanyakumari, the hotel provided is a average hotel. Two rooms given to me, after check in we found that AC is not working, informed to reception but AC could not repaired. I personally went to reception and requested for room change, but they denied to change. I called to Miles 2 Fly they said, wait for sometime we are talking to hotel. But no phone call came to hotel, after long argument when we are going to check out at mid night, they changed our room. Now lastly come to Madurai they provided us worst hotel, before check in I called to Miles 2 Fly and told about hotel condition and sent photos to them. They said we are talking to our sales team and finally they avoided my phone calls, till 2-3 hrs we were at reception of hotel. After that we called Ms Jyoti of travel trangle and told her about hotel, she clearly told that we can not interfere into the matter, it is customer duty to check the hotel before finalization of deal. Finally we spent one horrible night at this hotel. Hotel name is M3 boutique. One more thing is to speak, Ms Jyoti promised us for Rs 500/- discount on deal, but till now no refund is received. So overall I can say Miles 2 Fly is not a good agent and they can not assist you during the tour, their hotels category is also very cheap, so before you book with this agent, think twice. Similarly during your tour if you want any assistance from the Travel Triangle they can not help you any way.
Roshan Lal Sharma
Roshan's 4 days trip to Tamil Nadusince this trip has ended i m better at summarising the experience -: Negatives 1-at times travel triangle team response was very carefree, they did not look into complaints carefully and did not check for errors before posting the asked documents. 2-customize my trip(CMT) though promised complimentary breakfast in all three hotels ,but the very first oyo homestay hotel denied breakfast and gave it only when told that it had been promised in hotel voucher.this was brought into notice of designated CMT agent next day but still the next two hotels in beginning denied provision of breakfast and only provided when they were repeatedly told and shown hotel vouchers.instead of complimentary breakfast it felt like begging.Even when informed after day 1st the repetition of this suggests that that CMT team had no interest in instructing the hotel about complimentary breakfast. 2-none of the hotels had proper cutlery and utensils for serving of complimentary breakfast, it was as if they were forced to provide breakfast. 3-whatever the star status category CMT team might think they provided us but even a small hotel provides proper bedsheets ans towels .the hotel in rameshwaram was pathetic it had dirty sheets which were changed when told and dirty towels Positives 1-driver for trip nizam was good and was the only good thing in this travel experience 2-CMT advisor was prompt enough to tailor the invoice as per need all in all not what i expected
Mayank's 4 days trip to Tamil NaduGreat arrangement by Tootle Tours. They took care of entire 3 days travel for my parents for their pilgrimage to Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari & Trivandrum. The hotels at Kanyakumari & Trivandrum were good. Hotel at Rameshwaram could have bee
