About Hot Springs in Krabi

The hot springs in Klong Thom have thermal sources, originating deep underground in volcanic chambers. These streams of water are rich in natural elements and mineral salts. Along with offering a tempting relaxation, a dip in these Klong Thom hot springs are known to subdue body aches, rheumatism, skin problems and other physical ailments. None of these are medically proven, but no one can deny the soothing effect that these volcanic water springs have on the stressed body and mind.

The Klong Thom hot springs Krabi site have hollowed out cavities within the spring bed, making natural ‘bathtubs’ made of smooth stones, where one can dip themselves and spend their session in the lukewarm temperature of 35°C-42°C.

To complement the effect of the hot springs, a visit to the Emerald Pool further into the forest is an absolute must. It is locally called Sra Morakot. A small trek of 1.2 km through the forest will bring to this expanse of crisp blue water, also called the Crystal Pool for its appearance. The path to Krabi hot springs and Emerald pool tour crosses many smaller streams and mini pools, like the Sra Geaw Pool, shrouded by dense growth of tropical forests.

The Emerald Pool does not have hot water, since it is sourced by the freshwater streams coming down from the limestone hills up above. But it is perfect for dipping till the neck and enjoying a leisurely session of swimming in the cool blue water. A little further there is another pool called Blue Pool with similar azure blue water and a lovely environment to laze around in.
