Sapa Tour Packages

About Sapa: rated 4.3/5 (based on 25 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹25,999/-

Sapa is a small hill station originally developed by the French in the year 1922. But today it is a major tourist center for its spectacular mountainous views with plunging valleys overlooking them.

Mists roll down often on the peaks but the local tribal community colors the atmosphere even on cloudy days. With the recent rise of commercialization, buildings are seemingly heightening in its numbers and that has considerably calibrated Sapa’s skyline.

But if you are planning for a Sapa tour, this article will let you know all the details for your trip.

How To Reach

By Road

Buses ply regularly from Hanoi in the early mornings or late evenings. It mostly takes a total time of 6 to 7 hours to reach Sapa.

Unlike trains, buses travel faster without any stops in Lao Cas. By a private car, it takes 5 hours to reach Sapa.

But motorbikes are quite of a risk if you have never ridden one as the wet paths are not suitable for motorcycles. You can hire xe om with a local driver to hang out in the town.

By Air

There is no such facility to fly to Sapa directly for the Sapa package as there are no direct air routes. So if you want to fly, you have to reach Hanoi airport. From there take a train or bus which will smoothly take you to Sapa.

By Train

There are many trains for tourists to Sapa. But they take much of your time for around 8 to 9 hours as it stops in Lao Cai. But it’s best to book tickets before long if you are traveling in the peak seasons.

So you will arrive at the Lao Cai railway station from where you may need to take shuttle buses to Sapa.

Best Time To Visit

The best time that you should choose for a Sapa tour package is in March or May and from between September to mid-December.

Around April till May, tribal people grow rice on the terraces. The view of the terraced fields looks mesmerizing from a distance. This time the weather remains dry.

But you are most likely to experience all the four major seasons during this time if you’re planning a Sapa tour. The mornings are cool as spring days and the evenings are cold.

I liked the management but, there was always 11th hour information because of which we had to be ready before the Itenary time of departure to a place, to keep buffer.. that was something a tourist would hate the most considering the departure times were already around 6:30-7:00 am. Visiting Sapa, Ban Gioc and Kayaking at Ha Long Bay

Thank you Bamboo Hat Tours. My friend and I went to Cambodia and Vietnam. Just returned on the 12th. Sophie was really hands on. She coordinated everything perfectly and was just a call away. The hotels were very comfortable and the guides (The only guide with the red hat in Cambodia, Thom [May have got the name incorrect but she is 24 with a kid and fiercely independent for someone from her clan] in Sapa Valley and Tom at Halong Bay) were extremely efficient, helpful, and they put things across to us in simple, understandable english, which is a feat as english isn't their mother tongue and as guides who barely make 250 dollars a month during peak season, we were apperciative of the effort that they put in. I had read a lot on Angkor Wat, Sapa Valley and Halong Bay but what these guides told us was nothing short of a treasure trove of knowledge- straight from the horses' mouths, in this case, native Cambodians and Vietnamese. The staff at the hotels ((Mekong Angkor Palace, Diamond Legend Hotel, Apricot Cruise and Beautiful Sapa Hotel) were so so helpful as well. Everyone, including the lovely Pho lady and family beside Diamong Legend Hotel, was kind and uber hospitable. We are now planning a trip with Bamboo Hat for next April (Loas and Myanmar)...so will be contacting Sophie again. Why? Cause she and everyone associated with Bamboo Hat are damn good..thats why. :)

The tour agents were very friendly and approachable. Sophie understood our challenges and was very cooperative. I would like to make a special mention for Dai who was the guide on the bus to & fro between Hanoi and Sapa. When our small child wanted to use the toilet he arranged for a grab cab for us so that we could reach the hotel earlier than the shuttle bus would have dropped us. Later we realised he had paid for it as well. There was no need for him to do this and we really appreciate his gesture. Throughout the trip, during meals covered in the itinerary, they really took care of the vegetarian couple in our group. A special Anniversary cake was prepared for us on the (Han La Bay) cruise. All the staff onboard were very friendly. Thank you Bamboo Hat & team.

After a successful trip to Srilanka, I thought TT would ensure the same experience...sorry to note that this trip wasn’t as pleasurable, though memorable...to start with, I was told emigration and customs would be at Bangalore, on reaching airport THREE HOURS before ETD, we were told it was at CCA!!! Could have had a better sleep!!!!! At SaPa the hotel was told Bamboo or similar, the photographs of Bamboo was nice, but what we were offered was nothing similar... Hanoi ..we were told that on the first day we would see HCM residence etc., but we were driven straight to the hotel and that’s it Saigon hotel was an apology...feel cheated Sorry, will choose someone else for my next trip abroad

Our Vietnam Trip with Travel Triangle and S Viet was a very very satisfactory one. A special Shout out to Hannah, our tour manager form S Viet. She was always available. As in "Always". The tour was well organised and pretty flexible too. Myself and my wife did a 15 days tour of Vietnam travelling form north to the south and everything was arranged to the point. Yes, we faced a couple of glitches but that was addressed immediately by Hannah. She even rescheduled our flight form Da Nang to Saigon since our actual flight was delayed by 2 hours and we had an early pick up the next day. I had done good amount of research on Vietnam before hand and Hannah was excellent in accommodating my plan and in-turn advising me on the right route to travel the length of the country. Our tour guide in SaPa was excellent and advised us on the right things to do on our Leisure day. If i plan a trip to Cambodia. It'd be definitely be with S viet and will ask for Hannah as our tour manager. Thank you guys for making our Vietnam tour a memorable one. Cheers !

I had a lovely trip to Vietnam which was organized by LVP Travels. It was well coordinated, they were always available when I needed to speak, very pleasant to talk with. I was really surprised for a fact that time was always maintained. I had absolutely no experience of waiting or wasting any time. Trip was as per itinerary, there was no compromise on quality, totally worth the amount I had spent. Itinerary did cover all the important tourist destination. There was a lot of variety - we went cruising to Halong bay, there was a trek in Sapa, visited the ancient city and the temples, and kayaking in a beautiful lake. Hotels we stayed it were really good, they were clean, the hotel staff were very cordial, helpful, always available. Food was amazing. There was a lot of options provided to us. Spread was great. Thank you once again to Thuy and Jenny.
