Adventure Activities Vietnam
From the high mountains of the north to the green rice fields and deltas of the south, Vietnam poses as a beautiful tourist destination in South Asia. From visiting heritage destinations to cruising to trekking, there is no dearth of things to do in Vietnam. The Land of the Ascending Dragon has something to do or the other for every type of traveler.
Here’s what do in Vietnam to make the trip a rewarding one:
1. Cruising in the Halong Bay
Halong Bay, with its emerald green water and karst cliffs all around, makes for a picture-perfect destination in Vietnam. Local folklore calls the bay as the place ‘where the dragon descends into the sea.’ The natural scape of Halong Bay is as diverse as they come. The crystal surface of the lake is occasionally interrupted by limestone highlands, wave-eroded caves and grottoes all around. A cruise down Halong is among the best things to do in Vietnam.
2. Take a cycle tour around Hue
Situated on the bank of Perfume River, Hue is the legacy of the Nguyen Empire. Along with the contemporary buildings erected for tourism purposes, the old edifices like the Citadel, the Tombs of the Emperor, the Forbidden City and the Pagoda stand out as a reminiscence of the past. In modern-day history, this town marked the bifurcation between the north and the south during the Vietnam War. One can explore this historic town on cycles, either pedaling by oneself or taking one of the cyclo vehicles available. When the destinations are all covered, one can enjoy a drink by the Perfume River. It is not among the regular Vietnam activities, but surely a rewarding one.
3. Trekking from Phong Nha
The small town of Phong Nha in central Vietnam is where many jungle trekking and cave diving tours start. It falls in the Quang Binh province, which is home to hundreds of very deep caves. The deepest is Hang Son Doong – a deep, dark, mysterious cavern big enough to fit a skyscraper. The surrounding jungles of the Phong Nha National Park are perfect for short trips of trekking in Vietnam, featuring waterfalls and occasional visits by monkeys and foxes. The cave tours, though scary, are among the top things to do in Vietnam.
4. Go down the Cu Chi Tunnels
Yet another Vietnam adventure to do, Cu Chi tunnels are an absolute must. But they are more than just underground tunnels. They are a 250 km long man-made network created for discreet communication and hiding during the both the Indochina Wars. There are winding paths, hidden chambers, arsenals and storerooms and branches heading up to Cambodia. Ben Dinh and Ben Duoc are the two important tunnels. Apart from the fact that it is such a fun thing to do in Vietnam, these tunnels offer a glimpse into the kind of past that the soldiers had to live through in this war-ravaged country.
5. Row down the Mekong Delta
Southern Vietnam is entirely defined by the River Mekong. Thus the Mekong Delta is an obvious Vietnam point of interest. It fertilises the tail of the dragon on Vietnam’s map after traveling for more than 4000 km from Tibet, and sets the scene for a perfect cruise ride along its languid pace. Take in the ambience of green paddy fields, the rural villages and the locals with their trademark triangular hat on.

Gaurav's 7 days trip to VietnamI liked the management but, there was always 11th hour information because of which we had to be ready before the Itenary time of departure to a place, to keep buffer.. that was something a tourist would hate the most considering the departure times were already around 6:30-7:00 am. Visiting Sapa, Ban Gioc and Kayaking at Ha Long Bay
Subrat's 8 days trip to VietnamThis is my 3rd trip with TravelTriangle. We were a group of 3 families consisting of 12 members. The tour itinerary was arranged on consultations with Mr Karan of TravelTriangle. We are thankful to him for referring Bamboo Hat Travels of Vietnam to us. Ms Alice of Bamboo Hat Travels, who arranged the tour, was immensely helpful & rendered impeccable service. The cost of the tour was reasonable. The hotels were good & the transport arranged were upto our satisfaction. The best part was that Ms Alice was available on phone all the while for any assistance. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the tour operator.
Hariharasubramanian's 10 days trip to VietnamWonderful arrangement Excellent follow up good hoteld The daily tours are excellant
Shivangi's 6 days trip to VietnamIt was a pretty good experience..nice hospitality n on time service..happy with the service..cruise cd have been better
Bharadwaj's 5 days trip to VietnamWe went to Da Nang Vietnam on a 4 day trip. The tour was organized very well by travel triangle. We had a great time and an unforgettable trip. We did not face any sort of problem anywhere. We got vegetarian food all the places. Thanks to travel triangle for arranging a trip like this. Bana Hills, marble Mountains, my son sanctuary, Cham island. Worth seeing places.
Aniket's 8 days trip to VietnamThe trip was very good. Everything was planned well except few things. At Bana hills we had to leave the place an hour early from the schedule time in the itinerary. That place is huge and even a full day would be less to explore it. But we were given only few hours to see all the things and so we had to rush to all the places there. The room on the cruise at halong bay was smaller than what was shown in the itinerary. Infact the cruise itself was changed so what I checked while making the booking was of no use. Though the was not bad but I think I paid for something even better. The activities planned on the cruise was not the same as mentioned on the itinerary. So they should mention what is actually going to happen there. I had lot of expectations but didn't get those experiences. Again at Hanoi city tour, all the places mentioned in the itinerary was not covered something else was shown to us which was not mentioned. At Hanoi they booked a business hotel for us which mostly has two single beds. So on our 1st night of stay those bed were joined together which was not at all comfortable. Later we requested to change the room and after returning from halong bay we got a new room which was a lot smaller than the previous one with a double bed. Instead we could have been booked a different hotel of same standard which is not a business hotel. Apart from this the trip was well. We covered most of the important places in Vietnam. We were given a hotel in Hoi An instead of Da Nang which was a great suggestion we loved the place and even the hotel there was good.
Mitaj Jayenkumar Desai
Mitaj's 11 days trip to VietnamAsia Authentic travel prepared a good itinerary for Vietnam, though I recommend one day more at Hoi An and Hue. Eric our coordinator is very easily approachable, helpful and was available at a message throughout the trip. Hotel at Hanoi was little disappointing but Eric made efforts and changed it to to a decent one. The cruise at Halong Bay was excellent and special thanks to Eric for arranging vegetarian food! Overall, it was an amazing trip, . Thanks, Eric!! Special thanks to Rakhi Nautiyal, Travel Triangle coordinator for courteous cooperation.
Rajoshree's 6 days trip to VietnamBooking our trip through Travel Triangle was a sheer waste of money. Had we planned the entire trip ourselves, we would have had way better hotels and saved way much. While, Ms. Alice from Bamboo Hat tours was very sweet and always eager to help, we received nothing much from Travel triangle India except the hurry for the first installment to book.
Knsadanandan's 6 days trip to VietnamTotally the trip was a good experience, Venus Hotel in Hoi An-Too small couldn't comfortably move around, also located far from Da nang city. Ba Na Hills, Halong Bay, Mekong Delta.
Akhilesh's 6 days trip to VietnamIn hotel you guys provided 2 star hotel instead of 3 star Breakfast is very bad In room no tea n coffee facilities. Cruise ship is awesome
