About Dwarahat in Almora

Located in the Almora district of Uttarakhand, Dwarahat is a town and a nagar panchayat which is perched at the gorgeous hills of Kumaon in the same state. Dwarahat sits at a height of 1,510 metres above sea level, and can be a perfect spot for a peaceful vacation.

According to the local language here, Dwarahat literally means ‘Way to Heaven’. Dwarahat is a tourist attraction because of the ancient temples built here during the rule of Katyuri kings. One of the striking features of the temple is its architecture which is quite similar to that of the famous Gurjari School of Art.

An ancient town that is blessed with marvelous temples and spectacular scenes, Dwarahat is a perfect retreat for an idle vacation in the Kumaon hills. The town is also revered for its unique inheritance and religious sentiments. There are around 55 temples which have been here since ancient times ( around the Medieval age) by the kings of Katyuri dynasty. Now, Dwarahat is a true representative of the religious importance and heritage of the entire district.

Dwarahat is not only famous for its historical significance but also acts as a seat to some of the most respected Hindu deities. People from all over India come here to seek blessings from the deities of Hindu mythology. Also, if you want to take a break from the crowd, head to Dwarahat in Uttarakhand and enjoy a peaceful vacation amidst the hills. It is easily accessible from Ranikhet and just takes a day for a thorough visit. Some of the famous temples to be visited here are the ancient temples and and Dunagiri Devi Temple. One of the main attractions in Dwarahat is the Syalde Bikhoti Fair. It is held annually during the month of April. This festival marks the victory on the day of Vishuwat Sankranti. It is also a good opportunity to enjoy the folk dance and music festival during this time.

Firstly, Mr Sunil Kumar Panda from Navicrow convinced me to make this trip as I contemplated what to do during the second week of my holiday. He gave me a good itinerary and helped me close in on the trip. I went to Nainital, Kasauni, Saraikhet and Jim Corbett from Delhi. Firstly, Navicrow formed a

WhatsApp group to assist me which I felt was very reassuring. All the initial hiccups were amicably sorted, especially with the cab, which turned out to be a bit of a surprise. Navicrow managed it well, but the driver and car that they sent were outstanding. Hotels-wise, I was extremely delighted with the choices provided in Kasauni and Saraikhet. There were not many choices in Nainital. But it could have been a lot better in Jim Corbett. Thanks to Navicrow for arranging a great trip. Wish them well.

Staying at Night Campen in the Northern Himalayas would have been problematic due to the unsanitary conditions; it is advisable to avoid recommending this location to families, particularly th

ose with young children seeking a comfortable overnight stay. 3. All other accommodation arrangements were commendable; however, it would have been even better to have options closer to the Ganga River or Triveni Sangam for attending the aarti and enjoying quality time for seating and meditation without extensive travel. 4. The quality of food across all hotels was satisfactory; however, an increased variety of options would enhance the dining experience. 5. The chauffeur demonstrated commendable skills, yet he appeared somewhat discontent with the management, which created a slight discomfort during our travels; nonetheless, there were no personal grievances with him. 6. The vehicle provided was spacious and comfortable, contributing positively to our overall experience.
