History of Dehradun Zoo

Formerly, known as Malsi Deer Park, Dehradun Zoo was established as a Van consciousness center in the year 1976. Also served as a rescue center in the past, it was set up with just 1 goral, 3 spotted deer, 2 barking deer, 5 slopes, and 3 peacocks. Later, upgraded to a miniature zoo under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, there was also formed a Dehradun Zoo Management Society by the Government of Dehradun.
