Night camping in Dharamshala on Triund trek offers a beautiful sight of clear skies lit up with stars. The best time to visit Dharamshala is from mid-May to June and September to October when the weather is pleasant and not too cold.
1. Triund Camping: After a trek of around 9 km from Mcleodganj, trekkers reach a ridge of Triund which is ideal for camping. It is one of the most beautiful spots for camping in Himachal with the views of Dhauladhar Range on one side and the Kangra Valley on other. Tourists don't need to carry their own camps or tents as rented tents are available at the Triund Hill.
2. Bir Billing: Although Bir and Billing are popular for paragliding opportunities, tourists can also stay in camps here. Homestays and camps can be rented for longer periods as well. The town of Bir has a few Buddhist monasteries worth checking out.
3. Kareri Lake: Trekkers can reach this beautiful tranquil lake in the foothills of Dhaualadhar Range from Dharamshala. Its base camp is located in the Ghera village and tourists need to rest for the night at Reoti village. On the second day, Kareri Lake can be visited via 2-hour trek.
