About Jakhu Temple In Shimla
Jakhu Temple in Shimla is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is famed for being home to thousands of adorable monkeys. There is a huge statue of Lord Hanuman at the temple, standing at 108 feet high, which is the cynosure of all eyes. The temple is located on the highest peak of Shimla, at a height of 2455 meters, and is a major attraction in terms of religious travelers. While trekking to the temple, visitors can see the 108-feet tall Hanuman Statue in Jakhu Temple, hidden behind the deodar trees. The Hanuman statue is visible from anywhere on the hill.
Jakhu Temple History
It has an interesting legend behind it, related to the Ramayana. It is said that Lord Hanuman rested here while going back to put Sanjeevani Hill back in its place. And this is why the top of Jakhu Hill is flattened. The temple has been constructed around the footprints of Lord Hanuman. It is said that you must ring the bell by the doorway before leaving so that the Lord takes heed of your prayers.

The Temple timings for visitors are from 7 am to 8 pm. The Jakhu Temple is located at a distance of 5 km from Mall Road in Shimla. For those wondering how to reach Jakhu Temple should know that taxis are available at Mall Road to visit the temple.
Apart from its religious significance, Jakhu Hill is also a great place to enjoy some of the most beautiful views of Shimla.
