About Charpa Falls in Athirapally

The mystical Charpa Falls is located in the Athirappilly region of Thrissur district in Kerala.

The waterfall falls from a height of 70 feet and is located in between Vazhachal and Athirappilly waterfalls. The source of the waterfall is Chalakudy River, which is also a source of other waterfalls in that region. These waterfalls look mesmerizing and magnificent during monsoon season as the water flows at a speedy rate giving an enchanting and exceptionally beautiful surrounding. The Charpa falls is located at a distance of 60 kilometers from Thrissur. Visit the place for great photography and picturesque views and the best time to visit these splendid waterfalls is from October to February.

Places to visit near Charpa Falls

Athirappilly Falls: These falls are often called the Niagara Falls of India due to the might size which is 330 feet wide and around 80 feet of height. These are the biggest waterfalls in the state of Kerala. The falls are surrounded by dense forest which is one of the most fascinating and interesting biodiversity spots in Kerala. Visit the place and spot endangered animals like hornbill, elephants, bison, tigers, and leopards.

Vazhachal Falls: Another famous place to explore near Charpa waterfalls is Vazhachal falls, which are located around 4 kilometers away. The source of these waterfalls is also Chalakudy River and Vazhachal falls from the Sholayar ranges. The place is visited by many tourists due to its fineness and scenic views. The waterfall is settled in lush greenery and rustic mountains offering picturesque views that are great for stunning photography. The Vazhachal fall is surrounded by gardens and waterparks.

Chalakudy River: The Chalakudy River which is a source of Charpa falls starts from the Anamalai region of Tamil Nadu. It is also the fourth largest river of Kerala and also sources two other waterfalls of Kerala which are Vazhachal Falls and Athirapally Falls.

My trip was kerala was arranged by Namaskaram travels. My agent Sunny was very helpful throughout the trip. However I had some bad experience through the trip. The hotel in Munnar, Grand Valley, which was given to me in a 4 star package package was not of the standard for a 4-star. The location of the hotel was 100-150 m steep down the road, which could only be reached through hotel jeep, our traveller stayed out. A good hotel but not a 4 star. The next day, my traveller broke down on our way to Thekkady and we were stuck in the middle of nowhere for a couple of hours. The agency arranged for another traveller which covered our itenary for that day and dropped us to our hotel, Woodnote, which was the best in our trip. Local arrangements were made for our siteseeing in Thekkady, which were also good. Finally, a new traveller was assigned to us for our remaining trip, with with we covered Allepy and our drop to Kochi. Overall: Traveller Experience: 2/10 Grand Valley View, Munnar: 4/10 Woodnote, Thekkady: 10/10 Time Square, Allepy: 7/10 Agent Communication: 10/10 Travel Triangle Communication: 10/10
