Also referred to as the Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, the Soochipara Falls in Wayanad is a major tourist destination. When you first see any Soochipara Falls photos your first thought will be of serenity and a sense of being at one with nature. Soochipara Falls Wayanad is a beautiful three-tiered waterfall, located in Vellarimala. The water from this waterfalls later joins the Chaliyar River that flows across the Vellarimala Hills. The waterfalls descends from a height of 656 feet, and is also a great place to enjoy some rock climbing. The cliff face is a popular place for travelers to practice rappelling, under the expert supervision of trained climbers. If you want to enjoy climbing the waterfalls, make sure to take the services of a well-established adventure company. The drive that takes you to the waterfalls is a very scenic one, criss crossing various tea estates and spice gardens. After you reach the place, you can admire the beauty surrounding you. There is also a small pool that forms at the foot of the waterfalls, where you can dip your feet or wade around. However, during the rainy season, the water levels are pretty high so it is not advisable to step into the water unless you know how to swim. Soochipara Falls is a great place to take in the lush greenery that Wayanad is so famous for.
During the summers the waterfalls has less water, so it is easier to climb it. During the monsoon, the water level is pretty high, and during winters the freezing water makes it difficult to climb. So make sure to visit this attraction during the hotter months.
