Folklore Museum In Kochi

The Folklore Museum in Kochi aims at providing education and knowledge to the art lovers, researchers, and travelers from all over the world.

This museum is the only museum that is built with exquisite architecture in the whole of Kerala. The wood and bronze sculptures, ancient terracotta, jewelry, paintings from the stone age, oil lamps, musical instruments, tribal and folk art, wood works, utensils etc. and many others make up a total of around 4000 artifacts, varying in sizes from very tiny to very large. They can all be seen on display in the museum. The pieces are admirable and beautiful to look at. The Folklore Museum in Kochi is a cultural hub, with an aim to preserve and promote the culture and heritage of South India. There is a theater in the Museum where stage performances representing the authentic South Indian culture are put up.

The Folklore Museum is open from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening. There is an entry fee to enter the Museum. The ticket is for about Rs.100 for adults and INR 50 for students. The subsidized rates make the Museum a favorable destination for school’s day excursions. The Museum is located on the Pandit Karuppan Road, Santhi Nagar, Thevara, Kochi, Kerala. It is a true exhibit of beauty in God’s own country.

My trip was kerala was arranged by Namaskaram travels. My agent Sunny was very helpful throughout the trip. However I had some bad experience through the trip. The hotel in Munnar, Grand Valley, which was given to me in a 4 star package package was not of the standard for a 4-star. The location of the hotel was 100-150 m steep down the road, which could only be reached through hotel jeep, our traveller stayed out. A good hotel but not a 4 star. The next day, my traveller broke down on our way to Thekkady and we were stuck in the middle of nowhere for a couple of hours. The agency arranged for another traveller which covered our itenary for that day and dropped us to our hotel, Woodnote, which was the best in our trip. Local arrangements were made for our siteseeing in Thekkady, which were also good. Finally, a new traveller was assigned to us for our remaining trip, with with we covered Allepy and our drop to Kochi. Overall: Traveller Experience: 2/10 Grand Valley View, Munnar: 4/10 Woodnote, Thekkady: 10/10 Time Square, Allepy: 7/10 Agent Communication: 10/10 Travel Triangle Communication: 10/10
