About Adam's Bridge In Rameshwaram
Adam’s Bridge also known as Rama Setu is almost a 50 km long and 3 km wide boardwalk, which separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Strait. The bridge is set amidst natural setting that leaves visitors spellbound. Adam’s Bridge begins from Dhanushkodi and ends at the Mannar Island of Sri Lanka. In 1480, the bridge was hit by a cyclone, consequently submerging most its parts. At present, 3 – 30 feet bridge is submerged and of no use. Rameshwaram’s Adam’s Bridge is stationed at a distance of just a few meters from Dhanushkodi - the town’s last tip.
Built of limestone shoals, Adam’s Bridge connects Pamban Island near Rameshwaram of Tamil Nadu to the Mannar Island of Sri Lanka. It is mainly a chain of coral reefs and sandbanks, wrapped by a soothing aura, which imparts a relaxing experience to visitors. Some of the sandbanks are dry and the sea around the area is very shallow. Sri Lankans often believe that the Adam's Bridge to Sri Lanka was constructed by Ravana, using floating rocks made of weightless corals to reach India whenever he wanted. Adam's Bridge in Islam derived its name from an Islamic legend that states Adam used this bridge to reach "Adam's Peak" in Sri Lanka by treading on Adam's Bridge floating rocks.
It is believed that the bridge was built by Lord Rama’s vanara army to reach Sri Lanka for rescuing Sita from Ravana. People opine that stones float in water as the name of Lord Rama was written on these. However, Adam’s Bridge truth according to science is that these stones were just shells of silica that had air trapped inside, making them light and float on water. An American science channel in December 2017, claimed that the bridge is man-made that connects India and Sri Lanka. This Adam's Bridge video offered several hints about the bridge’s origin with quite a few scientists and archaeologists believing it to be man-made. The show has used satellite Adam's Bridge images from NASA and quotes scientists and geologists from Indiana University Northwest, University of Colorado Boulder as well as Southern Oregon University.

Trip to Tamil NaduTraveltriangle and Carlo Travels planned and executed our south India trip in a perfect manner and supported us well throughout the trip. Thanks to them for continuous assistance throughout the whole trip. Big round of applause for our driver Mahadev for his excellent driving skills, punctuality and humbleness. Sightseeing plan was flawless and hotels offered were also good. The Holiday Home Resort in Kodaikanal was very serene and peaceful, we spent a good time there. However, typical south Indian style food concerned us in ooty initially and we managed with good hotels suggested by Mahadev. Thanks to Carlos Travels and traveltriangle. We look forward to availing your services for our future trips...

Trip to Tamil NaduIt was perfectly managed trip. Cab driver was very supportive. The service that we got from travel triangle and VFM holidays was very appreciative.
Trip to Tamil NaduThe trip was very good but the driver did not know the places to see in Pondicherry. Every time I need to put place in google and go. However driver was good and co-operative
Trip to Tamil NaduThe service provided by our travel agent was very good. Right from booking the package to the completion of trip, I received continuous support from my travel agent. Much appreciated. Coming to hotel, we had chosen Deccan Park Resort. The outside view from resort, their service and food is good but the rooms are compact and does not give a fresh feeling when entered in the room. But, the service provided by staff was very good and prompt. One weak point is - they do not have wifi and even the mobile network(Vodafone/Airtel/Jio) does not catch signal. So,most probably you have to enjoy mobile-free stay at the resort. My review about driver is neutral. He provided good service like he used to reach before time throughout the planned trips and covered all the tourist spots as per itenerary. He guided about the places only when asked. He was cooperative but his way of talking was rude. Talking to him and raising concerns was not a comfortable experience. Rest okay. Overall a good experience and memorable trip. Since I planned it on last moment, it was actually a bit costly as compared to a well planned in advance.
