Thangal Para In Vagamon

Nestled on the Thangal hill, Thangal Para in Vagamon is a famous tourist attraction and a holy site of muslims.

The site oozes out unbounding beauty, serenity and tranquility. There is a rock and a tomb of Sheikh Fariuddin at the spot. Under the rock is a mosque. Every year, hundreds of tourists and devotees pay a visit to the pious site and seek blessings. Apart from that, they are also left awestruck by the unparalleled beauty of the place. The top of the Thangal Para offers a picturesque view of mountains and lush greenery that is sure to leave your jaw-dropped. Not only muslims, but other tourists also visit the place and get a soul-stirring experience.

History of Thangal Para

Like every other sacred place, Thangal Para too has a story associated to it which will enlighten you about the history and culture of muslim community living there. Some 800 years ago, a muslim saint from Afghanistan, namely Sheikh Fariuddin, visited this place along with his 40 followers. He stayed there until his death. The place was dedicated to him then.

Events at Thangal Para

Every year, the great Uroos festival is celebrated at Thangal Para with great vigour and show. It is held in the month of April. During the festival, pilgrims give offerings and a sweet dish called ganjshakar is distributed amongst all. My trip was kerala was arranged by Namaskaram travels. My agent Sunny was very helpful throughout the trip. However I had some bad experience through the trip. The hotel in Munnar, Grand Valley, which was given to me in a 4 star package package was not of the standard for a 4-star. The location of the hotel was 100-150 m steep down the road, which could only be reached through hotel jeep, our traveller stayed out. A good hotel but not a 4 star. The next day, my traveller broke down on our way to Thekkady and we were stuck in the middle of nowhere for a couple of hours. The agency arranged for another traveller which covered our itenary for that day and dropped us to our hotel, Woodnote, which was the best in our trip. Local arrangements were made for our siteseeing in Thekkady, which were also good. Finally, a new traveller was assigned to us for our remaining trip, with with we covered Allepy and our drop to Kochi. Overall: Traveller Experience: 2/10 Grand Valley View, Munnar: 4/10 Woodnote, Thekkady: 10/10 Time Square, Allepy: 7/10 Agent Communication: 10/10 Travel Triangle Communication: 10/10
