Parasailing In Pattaya

Parasailing in Pattaya

Taste adventure with parasailing in Pattaya

Rated 4.40/5 ( based on 6533 reviews )

Parasailing in Pattaya clips you into a harness under a bright canopy and tows you up to about 100 metres above the bay behind a speedboat, for roughly 8 to 12 minutes in the air. It is the easiest adventure activity in the city to say yes to: no experience, no fitness and no swimming required. You can take off from Pattaya Beach, Jomtien or Koh Larn (Coral Island), pay from around 600 Baht (Rs 1,710), and the whole outing is over in half an hour. Here is what it costs, where to fly, when to go and how the ride actually works.

Parasailing in Pattaya: Quick Takeaways

• Fly from Pattaya Beach, Jomtien Beach or Koh Larn (Coral Island); each launches from a floating pontoon about 100 m offshore.

• Budget from about 600 Baht (Rs 1,710) for a solo flight; a tandem flight for two runs roughly 1,225 to 1,925 Baht.

• Expect 8 to 12 minutes in the air and about 30 to 45 minutes for the whole outing, briefing and boat ride included.

• No swimming or experience needed. You wear a life jacket and harness, and a crew member clips you in and controls the winch.

• Go November to May for calm seas; fly early morning (8 to 10 am) for the lightest winds and the shortest queues.

About Parasailing in Pattaya

First, the thing people get wrong: parasailing is not paragliding. You are not running off a hill or flying a paramotor. A speedboat tows you into the air on a long line while you sit or stand in a harness under a parachute-style canopy, then reels you back down. It is passive, quick and beginner-proof, which is why it is one of the most-booked water sports on the Pattaya seafront and a fixture of almost every Coral Island day-trip.

The appeal is the view. From 100 metres up you get the whole sweep of the bay: the crescent of Pattaya Beach, the high-rises behind Jomtien, and the green humps of the offshore islands. Operators cluster along the main beach and on the pontoons off Koh Larn, so you rarely have to look far for one. The water below is busy with jet-skis and banana boats, part of Pattaya’s wider water sports scene, and parasailing is the one almost everyone can do.

Parasailing in Pattaya Price

A single parasail flight starts at about 600 Baht and climbs with the length of the flight and whether you fly solo or in a tandem seat for two. Below are the typical 2026 rates in both Baht and Rupees.

Flight type In the air Cost (Baht) Cost (Rupees, approx)
Solo parasail (one flyer) 8 to 12 min 600 to 1,050 B Rs 1,710 to 2,995
Tandem parasail (two together) 8 to 12 min 1,225 to 1,925 B Rs 3,490 to 5,485
Photo / video add-on Per flight 200 to 400 B Rs 570 to 1,140

Rupee figures use 1 Baht to about 2.85 Rupees (August 2026) and are a guide only. Prices are set on the sand and swing with the season and your bargaining, so agree the fare and the number of rounds before you fly. Flights off Koh Larn tend to sit at the higher end because you are paying island prices. For the price-by-operator breakdown, the entry-fees tab has more detail.

See the parasailing entry fees tab for the full fare list.

Where to Go Parasailing in Pattaya

Three spots run parasailing, and which one suits you depends on where you are staying and whether you want a quick thrill or a full beach day. This is the decision most searchers are really making.

Spot Best for What it is like Getting there
Pattaya Beach The easiest, most central flight Busy central strip, the most operators, quickest to arrange Along Beach Road in the city centre
Jomtien Beach A calmer flight and a relaxed day Wider, quieter, more family-friendly sand About 3 km south over Pratumnak Hill
Koh Larn (Coral Island) Clearest water, best paired with a day-trip Turquoise water off a pontoon, island-day vibe Ferry from Bali Hai Pier, then a beach

If you only have an afternoon in town, fly off Pattaya Beach. If you want the flight to be part of a proper beach day, do it at Jomtien or on a Koh Larn trip, where the water is clearest and the parasail is one of a dozen things to do on the sand. Koh Larn parasailing works best as an add-on once you are already on the island rather than a trip in itself.

Timings and Best Time to Go

Parasailing runs daily from roughly 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, in step with the beach water-sports crowd. The best window is early morning, 8 to 10 am, when the wind is lightest, the sea is flattest and the queues are shortest. Late afternoon gives you softer light for photos but choppier water. Across the year, aim for November to May, the dry season, when the Gulf of Thailand stays calm and operators run every day; short afternoon showers in the June to October green season can pause flights for an hour or two. For the day-by-day hours, check the parasailing timings tab.

How It Works and What to Expect

The whole thing takes about 30 to 45 minutes from the moment you agree a price, and only 8 to 12 of those are in the air. Here is how a typical flight runs.

  • Pay on the sand and walk to the water. You settle the fare with a beach operator and are pointed to a waiting speedboat.
  • Ride out to the pontoon. The boat runs you to a floating pontoon or flatboat about 100 m offshore, the launch platform.
  • Get harnessed and briefed. A crew member fits your life jacket and harness, clips you to the canopy line and tells you how to sit and how to land.
  • Lift off. The boat accelerates, the canopy fills and you are winched up smoothly to around 100 m. There is no running or jumping; you simply rise.
  • Soar for 8 to 12 minutes. You glide behind the boat over the bay. Some operators dip you toward the water and back up on request.
  • Land back on the pontoon. The crew reels you in for a soft, usually dry landing, and the boat returns you to the beach.

You can go up alone or in a tandem seat with a partner or child. Bring a strap for sunglasses and keep your phone in a waterproof pouch, because there is a chance of a splash on the way down.

Safety and Who Can Do It

Parasailing is one of the more beginner-friendly adventure activities in Pattaya precisely because you are strapped in and winched by a crew rather than doing anything yourself. Operators provide a life jacket and harness, clip you to the canopy and control the whole flight from the boat, and you do not need to know how to swim, because you take off and land on the pontoon, not in the water. Children can usually fly in a tandem seat alongside an adult.

That said, safety depends on the operator, not the activity. Standards vary between beach vendors, so choose a crew with visibly good equipment, a proper harness and life jacket, and clear instructions, and skip anyone who rushes the briefing. Flights are paused in strong wind and rough seas, which is another reason the calm early-morning slot is the one to book. If you have a heart condition, recent surgery, or are pregnant, sit this one out.

Plan Your Pattaya Adventure

Parasailing is best strung together with the rest of a day on the water. Pair it with a Coral Island (Koh Larn) trip, add more from our guide to water sports in Pattaya, and see the wider Pattaya travel guide to tie the trip together. When you are ready to book, browse Bangkok Pattaya tour packages or the full range of Thailand tour packages.

Overall, we had a very good experience with our travel agent. The trip was planned well, all commitments were fulfilled as promised, and the coordination throughout the journey was smooth. The team was responsive, professional, and ensured that transfers, sightseeing, and bookings were arranged prop
erly, making the trip hassle-free. The only major disappointment was the hotel selected in Pattaya. The rooms were quite compact, we encountered cockroaches in the room, and the towels provided were not up to the expected standard. This part of the experience could have been much better. The itinerary was well designed overall; however, for some outdoor attractions, scheduling visits during the evening would have been preferable, especially during the summer season, to avoid the intense daytime heat and make sightseeing more comfortable. Despite these points, we appreciate the effort and support provided by the travel agent. The trip was enjoyable, and with a little more attention to hotel selection and timing of certain activities, the experience could have been excellent.

I recently completed my Thailand trip with Travelopedia, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Vrushabh's 7 days trip to Pattaya

We recently booked an 11-day, 10-night land package to Thailand with Travtree Holidays, covering Bangkok, Phuket, and Krabi. Traveling with a 2-year-old can be challenging, but the overall experience was smooth and well-coordinated. Our itinerary was packed with great activities. In Bangkok, Safa
ri World was a huge hit with our little one, and the temple tours were beautiful. The Krabi leg was fantastic—the 7 Island Tour and the Jungle Tour were standouts. In Phuket, the Phi Phi Island tour and the Old City tour were both well-managed and enjoyable. Since we only opted for the land package and airport transfers, we relied heavily on their punctuality. The transfers were seamless, which is a massive relief when you’re hauling luggage and a toddler! The only disappointment was the Elephant Sanctuary tour. It felt very rushed, lasting only about an hour and a half, which didn't quite meet our expectations compared to the quality of the other excursions. Overall, we had a wonderful family holiday. Travtree Holidays provided great service and reliable transport. Highly recommended for families looking for a well-organized Thailand experience!

We recently booked our family trip to Thailand with Travtree Holidays, and it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The entire itinerary was very well organized, making the trip smooth and stress-free—especially important when traveling with young children (our ki
ds are 2 and 5 years old). All pick-ups were perfectly on time, and the vehicles provided were clean, comfortable, and spacious, which made commuting easy and relaxing for the whole family. The hotels arranged for us were excellent—family-friendly, comfortable, and conveniently located. Everything was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy each destination without any hassle. A special mention goes to our visits to Siam Ocean World (sea life) and Safari World & Marine Park. Both experiences were incredibly impressive and became the highlight of our trip. Siam Water World was fantastic for the kids, with exciting views of the sea creatures penguins etc that they thoroughly enjoyed. Safari World was equally amazing—the safari drive and shows were captivating, and seeing the animals up close was a memorable experience for both adults and children. Overall, Travtree Holidays ensured a seamless, enjoyable, and perfectly managed vacation for our family. We truly appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Thailand—especially families traveling with young kids.

    Pattaya Travel FAQs

How much does parasailing in Pattaya cost?

A solo flight starts at about 600 Baht (Rs 1,710) and runs up to around 1,050 Baht (Rs 2,995) depending on the length of the flight and the spot; a tandem flight for two is roughly 1,225 to 1,925 Baht (Rs 3,490 to 5,485). A photo or video add-on is about 200 to 400 Baht. Prices are set on the beach and negotiable, so agree the fare and the number of rounds before you fly.

Is parasailing in Pattaya safe for beginners?

Yes, it is one of the most beginner-friendly water sports in Pattaya because a crew straps you into a harness and life jacket and controls the entire flight from the boat. Standards do vary between beach operators, so pick one with good equipment and a clear safety briefing, and note that flights are paused in strong wind. Anyone with a heart condition, recent surgery or a pregnancy should skip it.

How long does a parasailing ride last?

You are in the air for about 8 to 12 minutes on a standard flight. The whole outing takes around 30 to 45 minutes once you count the boat ride out to the pontoon, the harness and safety briefing, and the ride back to the beach. If you want longer, ask the operator, as some offer extended flights for a higher fare.

Do I need to know swimming for parasailing in Pattaya?

No. You take off and land on a floating pontoon about 100 m offshore, not in the water, and you wear a life jacket throughout, so non-swimmers can do it comfortably. On the rare occasion an operator dips you toward the sea and back up, the life jacket keeps you safe. If you are nervous, tell the crew you want a dry flight with no dips.

What is the best time for parasailing in Pattaya?

The best time for parasailing is during the morning hours when the place is cold enhancing the person’s experience.

Where can I go parasailing in Pattaya?

The three main spots are Pattaya Beach in the city centre, which is the easiest and busiest; Jomtien Beach about 3 km south, which is calmer and more relaxed; and Koh Larn (Coral Island), which has the clearest water and works best as part of an island day-trip. Pattaya Beach is the quickest to arrange on the spur of the moment.

Can children go parasailing in Pattaya?

Usually yes, in a tandem seat alongside an adult, though some operators set a minimum age or weight, so ask before you pay. Children tend to enjoy the smooth, winched lift-off since there is no jumping or running involved. Confirm the harness fits properly and the crew is comfortable flying a child before you go up.

What should I wear and carry for parasailing?

Wear light clothes you do not mind getting a little wet, and quick-dry swimwear or shorts work well. There is a chance of a splash on the landing, so keep valuables in a waterproof pouch and use a strap for sunglasses. Carry only what you need, and leave anything loose or that cannot get wet with a friend on the beach.
