How Much Does a Luxury Bali Trip Cost from India?

A 5-star Bali luxury package costs Rs 51,000 to Rs 79,000 per person for five to eight nights, land-only on twin sharing. The median 5-star price across our Bali packages is about Rs 62,000. Add about Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000 per person for return economy flights, plus about Rs 3,500 for the visa and Bali levy.

Flights are an estimate based on our own with-airfare Bali packages; your agent quotes the live fare for your dates. A couple taking a 6N/7D Oberoi trip with economy flights should budget about Rs 2.2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh in total. Where to Stay in Bali on a Luxury Package

Ubud and the south coast give you two very different luxury trips, and most travellers book both. Spend the first two or three nights in a valley villa in Ubud, then move to the beach.

Private Pool Villa or 5-star Resort: Which Is Right for You?

A private pool villa is the better choice for couples and for anyone who wants privacy. A 5-star resort is better for families and for travellers who want restaurants, a kids' club and a beach on site.

This route uses resorts from our packages: two nights each in Ubud, Seminyak and Jimbaran. Your agent can swap any hotel or day.

• Day 1, Ubud, The Viceroy. Private transfer from the airport (about 90 minutes). Evening at the villa pool.
• Day 2, Ubud, The Viceroy. Tegallalang rice terraces before 9 am, Tirta Empul, an afternoon flower bath and spa ritual.
• Day 3, Seminyak, The Oberoi. Batur sunrise trek or helicopter flight, hot springs, then transfer to Seminyak.
• Day 4, Seminyak, The Oberoi. Private catamaran to Nusa Penida: Crystal Bay snorkelling, Kelingking viewpoint, lunch on board.
• Day 5, Jimbaran, AYANA. Morning on the beach, check in to AYANA, Uluwatu Kecak at sunset, seafood dinner on Jimbaran Bay.
• Day 6, Jimbaran, AYANA. Spa, beach club or a round at New Kuta Golf. Sunset at Rock Bar.
• Day 7, Departure. Private transfer to the airport, about 15 minutes.

End near the airport: the Ubud to Ngurah Rai drive can take 90 minutes in evening traffic.

Flights, Visa and Arrival for Indian Travellers

By Air

You fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban, south Bali, about 13 km from Denpasar city and 15 minutes from Jimbaran. IndiGo flies non-stop from Bengaluru every day and Air India flies non-stop from Delhi daily. IndiGo also flies daily from Mumbai with a short technical stop in Chennai. Business class is available on the Air India Delhi non-stop and on one-stop routes via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, and your agent can add it to any package. Visa and Bali Tourist Levy

Indian passport holders need a visa for Bali. The Visa on Arrival costs IDR 500,000 (about Rs 2,700) per person, is valid for 30 days and can be extended once. You also pay the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about Rs 800) once per trip on the Love Bali portal, and fill in the All Indonesia arrival card online in the 72 hours before you land. Best Time for a Luxury Bali Holiday

The dry season from April to October is the best time for a luxury Bali holiday, with daytime temperatures of 26 to 28°C. May, June and September are the best-value months for a pool villa: dry weather, fewer crowds and lower rates than the July and August peak. For July, August or Christmas to New Year, book three to six months ahead, because the best villas sell out first. Month-by-month detail is on best time to visit Bali.

November to March brings short afternoon showers and lower rates outside the Christmas fortnight. In March, Nyepi (the Day of Silence) closes the airport for 24 hours and guests stay inside their resort.
