Madhumita Das hailing from Kolkata describes her honeymoon experience in the cities of North India. Her trip which included visits to Delhi, Agra, Amritsar, Manali, and Shimla was a mix of adventure, history, and modern lifestyle. She booked her package from TravelTriangle and it included her transfers, hotels, and sightseeing all for a cost of INR 40000. Let us hear her story.

Our honeymoon trip had been delayed for some reason and so one day when my husband asked me to pack up for a trip to North India, I was totally taken aback. He had been planning the trip for a while and wanted to give me a surprise. I did not believe him initially, but when he showed me the reservations and vouchers, I realized all of it was for real.

I was overwhelmed with happiness!

Our honeymoon included the best cities of north India – Delhi, Agra, Amritsar, Manali, and Shimla.

My husband had booked our package via TravelTriangle which he had found on the internet. Initially planning on Maldives and then Goa, he finally settled for these Indian cities (Delhi, Agra, Amritsar, Manali, & Shimla) because they offered us an exciting itinerary and a longer stay!

We landed in Delhi from Kolkata and were transferred to the ‘Hotel Perfect’ from the airport. After relaxing in the hotel for a while, we set off for the majestic India Gate. This was a nice experience even though we could not enter the area due to security reasons. (Republic Day) After clicking some photos and enjoying the winter ambience there, we returned to our hotel and retired for the night.

This was a day planned for a visit to the majestic ‘Taj Mahal’. We checked out of the hotel and were excited about the road trip from Delhi to Agra. ‘Taj Mahal’ was a mind blowing experience and I was enchanted by the whiteness of it. We clicked some good pictures here and enjoyed our monument tour thanks to a very good guide!

Later, we went to the local market and indulged in some shopping. I got myself a saree (made from pineapple leaves), a candle stand, and many souvenirs. We also ate and bought the famous ‘Agra ka Petha’, something which I always wanted to taste. We then proceeded on for an overnight journey to Amritsar!

After reaching Amritsar in the morning, we rested for a while in our hotel – ‘Hotel Puri Palace’. Once we were done relaxing, we proceeded on for the ‘Wagah Border Parade’ from Amritsar. It was a 2-3 hour journey and by the time we reached there, it was raining heavily.

We were drenched as we watched the show, but it was worth it. I loved how the spirited soldiers carried on their duty even during rough weather and conditions.

After returning from the show in the evening, we again proceeded for a road journey to Manali. overnight journey to Manali.
