By Air
Trivandrum has international and domestic terminals. The nearest airport to Trivandrum is the Trivandrum International Airport, which is well-connected with the major cities of India and other countries. From there, one can hire a cab or taxi to explore the capital city of Kerala. Flight is one of the most convenient ways to reach Trivandrum. Travelling from Kochi takes around 50 minutes to cover a 190 km distance from Kochi to Trivandrum. The airport is located near the seaside, four kilometres from the city centre, and near Kovalam Beach, one of the state's favourite tourist attractions.
By Train
One of the best and cheapest ways to reach Trivandrum is by train. Thiruvananthapuram has around 20 railway stations, and the Central Railway Station is the largest in southern India. It connects the city with the rest of the country. Some of the better trains running to Trivandrum are the Netravathi Express (Mumbai), Anantapur Express (Chennai), and Sabari Express (Hyderabad).
By Road
Trivandrum is connected to major towns and cities by NH66. You can reach Trivandrum by public transport, Volvos, or deluxe buses from major cities like Cochin, Bangalore, Madurai, Coimbatore, and Chennai. If you travel from cities like Kochi and Alleppy, the 200 km journey can take up to 5-6 hours. However, the distance from Trivandrum to Alleppey is 149 km, and it takes around 3-4 hours to reach Trivandrum by road.
