Punjab Tour Packages

Punjab Holiday Packages: rated 4.1/5 (based on 29 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹9,000/-

Punjab Holiday Packages

One of the largest and most beautiful states in India, Punjab is located in Northern India. This state has been witness to the migration and resettlement of people of various races and faiths, thereby creating a smorgasbord of culture, history and heritage, which can be explored very well via Punjab tour packages.
In fact, the very first traces of human civilization were found in Punjab. The name Punjab was given to it for the simple reason of there being 5 rivers here, namely the Jhelum, Beas, Chenab, Sutlej and Ravi. Of these Chenab and Jhelum are in the Punjab province of Pakistan, whereas the other three are in the Indian part of Punjab.

Places to visit in Punjab:

Travelers visiting this beautiful state are sure to want to stay longer, since there are plenty of attractions here to appease even the most finicky of visitors, people from all walks of life as well as travelers looking for solo trips, honeymoon trips, family vacations or a soiree with friends. Pick the perfect Punjab tour package itinerary for you, based on your requirements. Some of the must visit cities here include:

Amritsar:

This is one of the most popular places to visit in Punjab, and is sure to be a part of any Punjab tour itinerary that you book. The Golden Temple, the most important pilgrimage stop for Sikhs, is located in Amritsar, along with several monuments that remind one of the sacrifices made by the people of this state when fighting for freedom. Jalianwala Bagh is one such example, where hundreds of innocent people were shot and killed by British troops despite it being a quiet, non-violent protest. The Wagah border is nearby, since Punjab is right on the border with Pakistan, where you can get to see the changing of the guards and hosting of the national flag from both India and Pakistan.

Chandigarh:

A superb destination to spend a few days at when availing your Punjab holiday packages. This is a modern city that is the official capital of Punjab as well as Haryana, two states that have a lot of similarities with each other. Chandigarh is where you can come to relax for a while, in the lap of luxury. This is also the last stop before you hit the mountains of Himachal Pradesh, but that is not it’s only calling. There are plenty of attractions here in Chandigarh, such as the Rock Garden, Timber Trail, International Dolls Museums, Rose Garden, Cactus Garden and Sukhna Lake among others.

Rupnagar:

Although not a very popular destination in Punjab, Rupnagar, also called as Ropar, is famed for being the historic site where traces of the indus Valley Civilization were found. It is a haven for those looking for excavation sites, relics of an age gone by and an opportunity to explore the remnants of the oldest civilization in the world. Since it is close to Chandigarh, it is easy to visit it on a day trip as well, as part of your Punjab tour plan.

Ludhiana:

The biggest state in Punjab, Ludhiana is famed for its textile industry. So it is a good place to head for those in love with shopping. You can purchase apparel, footwear and accessories here at very nominal rates. Other attractions in Ludhiana include The Phillaur Fort, Lodhi Fort, Tiger Zoo, Deer Park and Nehru Rose Garden, making it a must visit on your Punjab trip package.

Pathankot:

A famed destination in Punjab, Pathankot is much loved because it is a point where Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Jammu, and Punjab meet. The scenic views are sure to make you fall in love with the destination. But that is not all, there are in fact plenty of amazing attractions here as well, such as the Ranjit Sagar Dam, Mukteshwar Temple, Kathgarh Temple, Shahpurkandi Fort and Nurpur Fort among others.

Best Time to Visit:

The best time to visit Punjab can be said to be during the months of October to March, when the weather is pleasant and the torrential rains have passed through, leaving behind a greener than ever landscape. This is when the Punjab holiday packages are most availed.

Summer: The months of April to June constitute the summer months of Punjab. The average temperature reaches around 45°C during this time, rarely dropping beyond 32°C during the day time. This is not a very good time for availing Punjab tour packages, since sightseeing is sure to become a hassle during the summers.

Winter: The winter season of Punjab arrives in October and lasts until March, with the average temperature dipping down to 26°C during the day time and on occasions to 0°C in the night. This is actually the best time to explore the state since the cold will not interfere with day trips and sightseeing tours, in fact the dipping temperature will give rise to misty fields that are a delight to look at. A lot of festivals, such as Lohri is celebrated during this time, which are great for a tourist to participate in. It also helps that Punjab is known for having very friendly locals, who go out of their way to help out others.

Monsoon: The monsoon season, one of the most ferocious in all of India, lasts from July to September. This is not a great time to visit Punjab because the rains definitely create havoc when planning your Punjab tour package itinerary. The rains can start at any time, and can last for hours.

How to Reach Punjab:

There are plenty of ways to reach Punjab, out of which the best option is to take a flight to one of the airports here. The main airports of Punjab include the ones in Ludhiana and Chandigarh, which are both domestic airports, offering great connectivity to most parts of the country. There is one in Amritsar as well, which offers international flight connectivity to select locations, thereby proving to be best for international visitors who have taken Punjab tourism packages.

Depending on your starting location, traveling to Punjab by road is also a great option. The roads are mostly well-built and maintained, thereby ensuring that getting there will not be an issue. The extensive network of roads in Punjab has its biggest player in NH1, which connects it to East India as well as the far reaches of North East India.

You can also choose to travel to Punjab by train. There is an extensive rail network in Punjab that connects it to various parts of the country. Railway stations are present in most large and small cities, with the smaller, more rural towns being connected by road. The main railway station here include the ones in Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Ludhiana, Amritsar and so on.

Pardeep's 6 days trip to Andaman

It has been a good experience of purchasing an Andaman package from Travel Triangle. All things about the package i.e. itinerary details were well explained by the company representative. Cost wise it was fine. Though the trip was fine, but i would like to share here the horrible experience we went through on landing in Port Blair Airport. I had made all the requisite payments and provided ID proofs of my family members at least 20 days before the date of traveling. I traveled with my family on Jan 4, 2020. After hectic overnight journey from Punjab to Port Blair, when we reached Port Blair on Jan. 5, 2020 Sunday at 8am there was no one to receive at the airport. Five contact numbers were provided on the Voucher i.e. of Travel travel triangle representative Mr. Anuj, two emergency contact numbers and of Ms. Surbhi Sharma. All these numbers were switched off. I desperately called these numbers for two hours from the airport but there was no response. Some how i managed to reach the designated hotel(Da Bay Inn). To my surprise there was no booking in my name in the said hotel. This incident caused a lot of botheration to my family and created the doubt in our minds. For whole trip we were in uncertainty about our hotel and ferry booking. Silver lining in all these things was Mr. Amjed, the local coordinator of the trip. On his name we were able to check in the hotel on first day. He has a very good reputation. When i read his name to the hotel authorities from my voucher they accommodated us. Later in the evening he met us and assured us about all the hotel booking and taxi services. so i suggest all to contact all the hotels before embarking on your journey. Later i was contacted by the Travel Triangle representative Mr. Anuj. He explained that he was stuck up somewhere. Trip advisor Ms. Surbhi Sharma told that on sunday we are not on duty. But my point is that ,if one person is stuck up somewhere , the emergency contact numbers must work. There is not any kind of emergency response service available in Travel Triangle. So please get a package from this company on your own risk.

Deepak's 7 days trip to North East

Short form of the feedback: Starting July 11 thru' 17, '19 we had a memorable tour of NE India (mainly Meghalaya & a bit of Guwahati). We enjoyed every moment of it. Many thanks to Nikita from Reify/Itvaar Travels for putting together the overall package, detailed planning and for her constant support right thru' the tour. Long form of the feedback: It was the worst of times and yet the best of times .. In many ways. Promises and credible relationships were available only at a premium, that which invariably breakdown despite the best of intentions, when working at breakneck speed since the beginning of the year on a high-profile project, that which we were terribly behind and that which we had run out of considerations to not deliver. We were now effectively playing a test match game at T20 speed. Who knew if we would end up at 500 for 1 or would be all out below 100. If one batsman got out in the high-profile chase with time running out, then the next one in line had to pick up the gauntlet and step up his or her game. As Lord Tennyson so eloquently wrote in Charge of the Light Brigade, “Was there a man dismayed? Not though the soldier knew, Someone had blundered. Theirs was not to make reply, Theirs was not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die, Into the Valley of Death …”. It was the worst of times and yet the best of times .. To be associated with our project execution team. Such pressure invariably spills over onto the family which, though understanding, cannot quite fathom the necessity of an all-out war-room 24x7 work environment. After one especially contentious call, my wife asked me if I’m okay. Say I, “Yes, its just that I was practicing the ‘Raga Deepak’. Pretty normal under the circumstances. Logical thinking was at a premium.. But things took for a worse, family wise, when we had to cancel a much-awaited vacation to Iceland, mainly because, well you guessed it, work took precedence. But our vacation window for the year was closing. Our son, who is due to start his Master’s program this coming fall, gave us a 2 week window in July of his availability to join my wife & I on a vacation together. Also wanted to visit his grandma. Rescheduling to Iceland was off the table and we turned our sights to India. The 2 week window brought a clarity of purpose. Workwise, it was finally possible to see the light at the end of the long project tunnel, particularly after a quick dash to our co-developers on-site. That was good. Also, India was a good choice since I could quickly join up with our work team in India. A proposal for a workation (work + vacation) in India was quickly approved. We now turned our attention to picking a vacation spot in India. Not much time to figure that out. A new deadline. So, what’s new? It was the worst of times and yet the best of times .. To plan a vacation. July is monsoon time in India. We considered a few drier spots, the western & northern parts. Vacation spots in Gujarat, Himachal, Punjab were in consideration. But none seemed to gel well enough. And then an idea. Why try to avoid the monsoons at all? Why not pick a spot particularly well known for its monsoon rains: Cherrapunjee? That which has the reputation of the rainiest spot on Earth, or atleast that we hadlearnt during our school history lessons. If we could follow Darwin to the Galapagos, our first and only trek of significance into the Himalayas and the Indus Valley Civilization to Harappa, then following the monsoons into Cherrapunjee while impractical, did sounds just about right. Hey, and don’t’ forget the possibility to douse ‘Deepak Raga’ with ‘Megh Raga’. It was the worst of times and yet the best of times .. To take a monsoon vacation in Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is in North East India. Organizing a vacation in India requires some level of ground support, particularly when coming from the US. Normally, we get ground support from relatives or friends who have provide contacts, or better still do the reservations & bookings on our behalf. But the North East is a different pickle altogether. None of our contacts knew much about the North East. What exactly to see in Cherrapunjee, or thereabouts? Other that its place in school history books, was it a place worth going to? A quick research on the web alleviated our initial concerns. The more we read, the more it seemed that we had stumbled on a hidden gem, just like Pokhara Nepal that we visited a couple of years back. But finding our way around there was still an issue. We normally self-organize our vacation travels. To do this requires enough lead time. In this case, we did not have that luxury. Nor, did we get enough leads from the web on how to self-organize one either. We were now down to Plan C: Contact a few travel agents that we could find on the web. The first one sent back a somewhat vague reply. After waiting in vain on them a few days, we tried the next one. Travel Triangle. Travel Triangle gave an immediate response back, forwarded our request to Nikita from Reify/Itvaar, an agency that specialized in the NE region. Nikita was a game changer. She is truly a responsive travel agent. After a short chat on WhatsApp, Nikita quickly understood our requirements and within a day put together a tour package that was close to what we might have put together ourselves. By this time word had got around that that we were going to the NE. A few close relatives were intrigued enough that they wanted to join us. An initial party of three quickly turned into a potential party of eight or nine. We settled down to a party of seven with one late joinee. Yet could we rely on an unknown agent from an unknown agency that had our contact from yet another unknown forwarding agent? What might be the chances of broken promises. Is Reify/Itvaar another fly-by-night operator? It came down to simply my judgement on how credible Nikita herself was. She was simultaneously responsive and insistent enough to raise our confidence in the agency. It was obvious enough that Reify/Itvaar wanted our business. But it was her responsiveness and sufficiently detailed plan that convinced us Reify/Itvaar was a credible enough agency. Our relatives joining us seemed overall fine with the proposal & pricing. Then after 3/4 modifications, that which Nikita was very quick to help work thru’ on, we finalized on 7day/6night proposal. We now had a day-by-day schedule, a vehicle with driver reserved and hotel bookings over a week or so. The schedule included the towns of Guwahati (in Assam), Shillong, Mawlynnong, Dawki and Cherrapungi (the last four in Meghalaya). We quickly learned about Shillong’s reputation as the Scotland of the East, Mawlynnong’s as the cleanest village in Asia (no kidding!) and Dawki’s as a town bordering Bangladesh. More hidden gems, for sure. It was the worst of times and yet the best of times .. Cherrapunjee was ON, and more. To get in meant a 40+ hour journey from Philadelphia to Doha to Delhi to Guwahati. The last leg of our outbound journey from Guwahati airport to Shillong would in a Tempo Traveler van included as part of the overall package. The Tempo Traveler and its driver, Tapeshwar would be our constants thru’ the tour. This was the first litmus test on the quality of the arrangements by Reify/Itvaar. The van was good sized 12 seater with plenty of space for our bags and in very good condition. Plenty of room for all. We would start our tour from Shillong, with Guwahati the last stop on our way back. One relative joined us at Guwahati airport. The others joined us the next day in Shillong. Given the itinerary, it was mostly a tour of Meghalaya, just a day to visit around Guwahati. Thru’ the week, Tapeshwar was both our driver and guide thru’ the tour. A soft spoken and ever smiling Assamese, knew his way around and ever ready to adjust per our needs. With a good vehicle, Tapeshwar (literally) at the front end and Nikita at the back end, we had an amazingly good support system to take us thru’ the tour. Nikita was ever available thru’ the entire tour to help us as required. We created a WhatsApp group for the tour. The WhatApp group was very useful too, particularly to share pictures with each other. Nikita, though not on the tour, was also in the group. And she was ever attentive to all messages that required her help. With Nikita & Tapeshwar, we had a memorable trip and enjoyed every moment of it. Overall hotel arrangements were very good (except the last one in Guwahati, where both the room bathroom and breakfast arrangements were sub-par). Our one regret is that we do not have a picture of either. We neglected to take one with Tapeshwar (not sure how that happened). We never met Nikita. We can only imagine what she might be like. But both will be in our thoughts, every time we reminiscence about the tour. It was the best of times .. thanks to Nikita & Tapeshwar & Meghalaya. Deepak.

Kenil's 5 days trip to Himachal

Hotel in Dharamshala (Sai Taj Grand) was excellent with very polite staff. But the hotel in Dalhousie (Satyadev Grand) was horrible. The entrance and ambience was so poor that you wouldn't like to stay in the hotel. The staff was rude too and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The cabs AC wasn't working and hence it was too hot in Haryana and Punjab when we were traveling from Delhi towards Dharamshala. The agent (Guruji Travels) refused to accept its AC is ill functioning. The driver (Vikas Kumar) was a very polite guy. One of the best drivers that I have ever travelled with. He needs all the desired appraisals from his company. Guruji Travels needs to be o be more customer centric as they are in service industry. Should give a heed to customers complaints and should check the hotels that they are giving to their customers. Himanshu from Travel Triangle was very helpful in listening to our complaints.

Ashutosh's 8 days trip to Himachal

hotels and their location was not good they were far away from main points so we can't go outside even for a walk after 6.our 3rd hotel Turkish cottage was changed suddenly when we arrive as per the hotel we dont have any booking here and we were asked to go to another hotel 10kms away. when we enquired the same to travel vichar agent they said we have booked another hotel for you and they don't care to even informed us luckily our driver had not gone far away he came back quickly and then we moved. so the new hotel was hotel snow retreat as per our plan it should be of 3star but it was hardly 2star rated hotel, washroom was not clean, room service was not available as the phone line was disconnected so i need to call them via mobile. after this hotel i felt cheated as it was a rs 500 per night hotel and we were too tired to call the agent for a change. Rs 1600 was charged as Himachal gvt has increased some kind of road tax on outside vehicles so i need to pay them separately. when my full package is for Himachal the car should be of himachal so that i could have saved some money atleast but we got a Punjab vehicle and i have paid the money to driver. only good thing was a good driver with a new car and the scenery of himachal, we got snowfall at various locations and we enjoyed different activities.
