These temples are the oldest temples in Kumarakom and have a common compound wall. The name of Kumarakom has come from this temple which means the “home of Lord Subrahmanya’. This temple has a pavilion made of a single stone. Thaippooyam is the major festival in these temples scheduled in the Malayalam month Makaram which is in February.

2. Sri Kumara Mangalam Temple

Sree Narayana Guru fought against the caste system in Hinduism and consecrated an idol Lord Subrahmanya at Kumarakom. The Lord Subrahmanya became the deity of Sri Kumara Mangalam Temple. Around 70% of its residents belong to Hindu Ezhava caste under four SNDP of Sree Kumara Mangalam Temple. A special festival held at the temple on Pooyam day in the malayalam month of Kumbham, usually in the month of March.

3. Sree Muthente Nada Mahadeva Temple

Lord Shiva, Muthan Vallyachan and Bhadra – this their deities worshiped here. Here Lord Shiva and Vallyachan offered tender coconut and toddy(other drinks also). It is believed that every Thursday and Friday deities speak to devotees through an oracle which predicts their future if it is approached. With the daily rituals, there is a three days festival in April carried out by the scheduled cast community.

4. Puthiyakavu Devi Temple

The Goddess Bhadrakali is the deity of Puthiyakavu Devi Temple. One of the rituals here is Theeyattu which describes Goddess Bhadrakali’s story of returning after killing the demon and her exploit to Lord Shiva. This temple’s main festival is an eight day-long festival in the month of Meenam.

In this temple, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy manifested together. The main festival here is Meenabharani which falls in the Malayalam month of Meenam usually in the English month of March/April.
